Just got an offer for Nash that we really like. If you're still interested and I haven't responded to you, step your game up!

KRISTO TRADED TO COLORADO

The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Danny Kristo to the Colorado Avalanche for their 2013 2nd round pick.

Kristo definitely has a future in the NHL but we were a little upset that he declined to join the Bulldogs for next season even if we understand his decision to stay in the WCHA for another season. We are happy to add a fourth second round pick in what is projected to be a very deep draft.

The Avalanche confirm. We like Kristo's upside and can give him all the time he needs.

Stewart Returns For Another Season

Chris Stewart is looking to rebound in St. Louis next season.

The St. Louis Blues are pleased to announce that Chris Stewart will be returning to our organization next season.

Stewart, 24, has signed a one year, three million dollar deal to remain with the Blues.

``I couldn't be more happy to be returning to St. Louis for next season.`` Stewart said in a phone interview with TSN.

``It's not secret I had the worst year of my career last season and my goal is to rebound and prove that I am a better player than what I showed last season. I'm working harder than ever to get in the best shape possible and I cannot wait until next season.``

Stewart is expected to line up either on the second or third line next season for St. Louis and will be expected to produce goals, which he has shown he can do as before this season he posted back to back 28 goal seasons with the Avalanche/Blues organizations.

Also returning to the St. Louis organization are RFA's Brett Sonne, Anthony Peluso, Jay Barriball and newly acquired Viktor Tikhonov.

Looking to swap Nathan Gerbe + COL 2nd to move into the top twenty of the draft.

Would also consider NAS 1st + COL 2nd to move up at least 5 spots.

Ducks GM has been off the grid for a couple of days, but is now back in business:

OTB:

- ONE of the big 3 (Perry, Getzlaf, Ryan) I will determine which player gets me the best value in terms of roster players, picks and prospects.
- Lydman
- Hiller
- Luca Sbisa
- Justin Schultz's rights
- #6 overall, be prepared to knock my socks off

Wants:

- A long-term #2 C solution
- Top-9 offensive depth
- Organizational prospect depth
- High-quality goaltending prospect

Rick Nash has been traded, pending the waive of his NTC. Umberger is staying. Marc Methot is available, as are picks #31 and #45. We still want a goalie.

UPDATE

We are shopping the 7th overall for a young top 6 forward. Other assets can be added depending of the player.

Aaron Palushaj remains available for the best prospect or pick offered.

PM!

Making A Statement; Islanders acquires Nash from Columbus

In a bold statement about their intentions for the coming season, the New York Islanders pulled off a blockbuster deal today, acquiring top tier forward Rick Nash, as well as the 30th selection in the upcoming Entry Draft, from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for the 4th overall selection in the upcoming draft, winger Kyle Okposo, and centre Josh Bailey.

"This organization has spent several years acquiring depth and prospects, while waiting for our chance to make a move to the upper echelon of the league. That time is now, and we're thrilled to add a forward like Rick Nash. He'll play with one of the leagues brightest stars in John Tavares, and will see sustained success with our crop of prospects. With acquiring Los Angeles's 1st round pick in the trade, we've even managed to stay involved in the draft. Overall, we're very happy with this deal."

The Blue Jackets confirm. While we may have wanted more, this was definitely the best offer we received, and it will help us fill our needs. We get a young goal scorer in Kyle Okposo who will have the chance to be our 1st line RW. We think he can be a 30 goal scorer year after year. With Bailey, we see the potential in him and hopefully a change of scenery gets him to be more consistent. He worked well on the wing on NYI last year, so we'll be giving him that same opportunity in Columbus. The 4th overall pick gives us two top 4 picks, which we're really excited about.

Let's be honest, the only reason IR traded Nash to the Islanders is because he wants to see that happen in real life.
