PREDS ADD ENSTROM

In their first move of the off season the Nashville Predators added highly sought-after defenceman Tobias Enstrom to their roster in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets. Heading the other way is forward Alexander Radulov and defenseman Jonathan Blum. The Preds also recieved Winnipeg's 3rd round selection in this years draft.

To NSH: Tobias Enstrom (D), 3rd 2012 (WPG)
To WPG: Alex Radulov (F), Jon Blum (D)

I imagine living in Long Island > Columbus

But that is possibly just me

And lets be honest ,, Isles are in much better shape then Blue Jackets at this point and it is major market (Alot of endorsement chances if he is Isle)

Isles actually have decent G unlike the Flyers though

After suffering thru Steve Mason why would he want to play with Mason's Russian clone for next 8 years

Just talked to RR about it - draft is tomorrow at 7pm EDT.

If you want to attend, awesome - if not, send a list! Otherwise, you WILL be auto'd!

Dude has a Full NMC why in the world would he accept a trade to NYI? Flyers still made it to 2nd round, and have a young promising team. In real life he literally only has 5 teams, do you honestly see the Islanders on there? C'mon.

Waiting for an offer on Iginla that we like. Ideally would take two young roster players who are already top 6 or top 4

Giordano is off the block. Not available at all.

Tanguay can be had but at this point he's unlikely to be moving unless I'm really happy with the offer.

I agree with this. I don't see Rick Nash waiving his NMC to go to Long Island.

Still in the hunt for a legit top-6 forward, preferably a winger.

I think people are approaching this the wrong way.

The situation in the game was that the offers the team was getting weren't good. The Islanders offered a package that fit the bill, when no one else would. So Rick had two choices - return to Columbus, with the situation turned over from last year, no real hope for winning anytime soon and with a fanbase that is probably none too happy with him..... or go to Long Island, where he can be in a major market in the NY area, with a team that is becoming better very quickly, where he can play with an elite centre in Tavares, and where the team has several blue chip prospects waiting to contribute AND have addressed issues with their goaltending and defence.

I would think Nash would at least consider Long Island, though of course he would choose the Rangers, Flyers, etc, if they had similar offers.

Last chance for the 7th overall. If the pick isn't traded by tonight, it won't be traded at all since I won't take any other offer tomorrow before the draft.

I'm also listening to other offers.

PM!

Marc Methot
CBJ 2nd (#31)
OTT 2nd (#45)
Steve Mason

These pieces are still available for a #1A/B goalie. We will consider trading some prospects.

We're still looking to trade one of our big 3 (Perry, Getzlaf, Ryan). We have some good offers for Ryan, so get your offers in!

confirm

We also want to announce the contracts of our two new acquisitions. We had worked out a new deal prior to the trade with Alexander Radulov. We've signed him to a 5 year deal worth 6.75 million per year. We understand that this is a lot of money to pay but we feel Alex is a top winger. After the trade, we promptly signed Jonathan Blum to a 2 year contract worth 1.2 million per year.

We're still looking to deal Eric Fehr's RFA rights as well as Antti Miettinen. We're not looking for too much, a decent prospect or a draft pick. Chris Masons UFA rights are available as well. We will continue to entertain offers on Nik Antropov.

At least that's realistic because I can guarantee you that Radu wouldn't want to play in Winnipeg unless a severe overpayment.

Good job by the agent on this one!

When has a player ever done that though? Usually teams are forced to take a lower offer. Players have NMC for that very reason. Realistically Rick Nash would never waive to go to the Islanders. He goes to the worse organization in the league to one that is just a wee bit better? I honestly don't have a problem with keeping the trade for the game, I just don't understand how other trades can get vetoed easily but not this one.

Matter of opinion, I suppose. Traditionally, guys will waive their NTC when asked, and I think that Nash would accept that trade, but that's just me.

Agree to disagree I suppose!

Blues Deal D'Agostini To Carolina

The St. Louis Blues have traded forward Matt D'Agostini to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward Drayson Bowman and defenseman Jay Harrison.

We wish Matt the best of luck in Carolina but he just feel to far down our depth chart and we needed a 7th D for our club. Harrison gives us a great option at that position.

Bowman gives us a good prospect to add to our organization.
