So you WOULD rather see Mase in a Canucks jersey over those guys then...

No one will ever convince me, based on the play i've seen from him that Mason Raymond should be on this team.

If Scarlett Johansen showed up at my house topless to explain to me why Raymond and his falling down and erratic skating and inconsistency are an asset to this team, I might listen, but I still wouldn't be convinced.

DiPietro would be a better forward then Raymond even.

Ya that would make sense... too bad they already have guys that can play that roll.

Raymond basically had 2 positions last year: 2nd line wing, 4th line wing.

He's not good at either of them.

And that's the issue when it comes to Raymond. It's not that he's a terrible player. He isn't. He's a good PKer, good on the back check, good at getting the puck up ice (not so good when gets to that ice) and he WILL chip in with 20ish goals (his poor injury filled last two seasons puts him at 16 goal pace).

The problem on the canucks is he doesn't bring anything else. There is no grit. There is no good board play. There's no going hard to the net etc. Those are things Higgins, Hansen and Booth have and why Raymond has fallen on the depth chart. Even if healthy he likely falls on the depth chart.

It's why his value to the better teams is also likely low but I see him as a fit on a poorer teams or teams that do need that second-third line tweener that can penalty kill.

What would she have to do to convince you?

Yes. The Canucks can't just walk away from his award, though (whatever that award may be).

Sometime between July 20 and August 4, I don't think the exact date is set until after the deadlines for arbitration decisions during the first week of July.

Can't walk away from Cutdown Arbitration. Barring a trade or a demotion to the minors, Raymond will be a Canuck to start the year.
