Chris Stewart to Detroit

There's has been a rumor for a while that Chris Stewart is being shopped by Blues, and they are trying to find a left handed power-play defenceman.

According to Senior Vice President Jimmy Devellano, Detroit Red Wings are trying to build bigger and tougher offence.

So:

RFA Chris Stewart <> RFA Kyle Quincey

What do you think?

Wings are going to have to overpay if they want Stewart from the Blues, Quincey isnt going to get it done. I dont think a realistic trade could happen between these two rivals so I wont even try and counter with what I would want.

What could a team possibly want for a guy that rode the pine. We will keep Quincey and just grab Stewart when he isn't qualified.

Yeah, someone who has two 28 goal seasons under his belt won't receive a qualifying offer. The stupidity on this site is astounding sometimes.

Then ask yourself why would we ever trade him when his value is so low?

low value? Stewart, I know does not have low value, but his valie goes up when signed. Quincey was worth a first for ken holland so he does have value regardless what u think. Quincey will probably be resigned anyways. wings lost lids and there is a good chancr on stuart too.

Why would the Blues move him when his value is low? They would be much better off waiting to see how he rebounds this year. They definitely aren't going to trade him to a division rival when is value is low.

Why would St. Louis and Detroit even make a trade in the first place. Division rivals don't make trades of significance.

There are lots of lakes in Iowa that have beaches.

I love these rumors that Stewy is being "shopped." Many beat writers for the Blues believe he will be back this year and that Army isn't going to trade a guy after one down season with the team especially how young Stewy is.

Unless the Blues get a trade offer they simply can't turn down, Stewy will be a Blue.

agreed, i would love to see him in the D though. he'd add an element we haven't had in awhile. i picked him up off waivers in my FHL back in 09 and i was convinced he was the next iginla

Why would Blues trade a guy that likes to ride the pine. If Hitchcock gets pissed at Stewart for being lazy, then I imagine Babcock would downright despise him.

If both teams get what they want and are happy, what's wrong in this? Rivals or not. I just don't understand that kind of stupid thinking. If it's a win-win trade for both, go for it.

Honestly the player that would interest the Blues is Kronwall. And all of us Blues fans realize there is no way Detroit will trade Kronwall for a package based around Stewart. So there really isn't much to talk about.

Lol Red Wings fans. There is a reason Avs fans were excited to see KQ go. We aren't trading Stewart to a division rival and we certainly aren't trading him for Quincey.

Despite Blues fans constant demands for something spectacular for Stewart (seriously they want a top pairing defenseman, after last season that is unrealistic) i think Quincey is a very fair offer. Nobody at this point is going to "overpay" for Stewart, but i do agree that a trade to Detroit is highly unlikely.

Why would you write this? This is like me requesting Shattenkirk for Ryan Jones... Just because you say it's unrealistic doesn't make it reasinable to suggest, what a bizzare comment.

Where have we demanded anything spectacular for Stewart?

I've seen your posts though and you like to stir the pot so I'm not even going to bother.
