Great seeing the team in action. I was really impressed witht the leadership on the team. Dante Marsh, Angus Reid, Geroy Simon, etc. They keep everyone positive and focused. Also, Coach Benny seems to be a real positive force.
-It was good to see McCallum return to form on the field goals. He, Reid, and Reilly worked on it a lot in warm up and on the side lines.
-Travis Lulay is rounding into form. I'm glad he finally found Foster. Love how elusive he can be. Saw him throw a nice block too. He is the best QB in the CFL.
-Andrew Harris with other strong game. Why you wouldn't give him the ball, I don't know. He has outshone Jon Cornish in Calgary. No doubt who the top Canadian running back is.
-D-line: Way to shut down Calgary's run game.
-Geroy Simon: I really try to appreciate everything he does. It's hard because he just makes it look easy.
Calgary has issues. They have no run game. I don't know what's going on with their run block, but it sucks. Seems Cornish was always being tackled at the line of scrimmage. The only viable receivers they have are Lewis and McDaniels.
Finally got a chance to watch the game. First half was rough but the Lions started to look like the team of last year in the second half. Harris is crazy, small enough to get through the hole but strong enough to break tackles when need be and keep going.
Just want to say the Lions/Argos game is up there with the worst football games I've watched. Are they trying to set a record for penalties? Are all the players wearing a thin layer of axle grease on their shoes?
Boring, poorly executed all around, and the camera angles suck. I have to admit if I hadn't grown up in a CFL town cheering for a CFL team, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about this league.
