Salute From A Kings Fan

I wanted to wait a few days until everything subsided to do this but here we go, I have nothing but praise for you guys.

First off, congrats on an awesome season, I mean who could've predicted that final?

Secondly, great great series, one of the most physical and hard fought series I've ever watched, games 1,2,4,5 were all great with the back and forth could've gone either way games.

3rd, your team is pure class, there isn't anyone that I would've had a problem seeing lift the Cup, especially Marty and Parise. You guys are some great, classy fans too.

So yeah, congrats on the season, and I definitely hope we meet again in the years to come.

And also, I apologize if I said anything not cool on here during the series.

Cheers

The kind words are definitely appreciated. Honestly, there's still a lot of hurt and anger floating around here... so don't mind any of that. For the most part, a lot of us fans were impressed with your team's run throughout the playoffs... til our teams met up of course

Thanks again, and the respect is definitely mutual, but this:

You might get to enjoy this Championship for two years if there is a lockout again that wipes out the whole season.

go party and you really should cherish these moments go to the parade tomorrow and go all out party you never know if you will get this opportunity again

Do you feel happy that the Kings didn't get Kovalchuk? Looking back at that circus summer and how we both faced each other in the finals this year?

Not that Kovalchuk was at 100%, just wondering.

Thanks for your class it's much appreciated! Congrats to you, and your fans, and I have to say it's good to see a team like LA(8th seed) win the Cup, and not a team everyone else thinks is gonna win. You're right who could have predicted this Final? I wouldn't have even predicted it in the second round of the playoffs on either side to be honest!

So you guys got a great team there! Enjoy it! Good to see a first time Cup winner too! Also as far as Kovalchuk goes I'm sure the true fans of LA are more than okay with that. How much better could the team have possibly been? 16-4 is a damn good record! Going 15-2 in the first 17 games is pretty remarkable! Enjoy your victory, and thanks again for your class!

Does that mean that Parise is going to pull a Hossa?

It's hard ot argue with the way things worked out. If the kings got Kovalchuk I doubt that the Richards trade would have happened. The whole team would look different.

I hope he is not seriously hurt, he is one of the great players in the game

Nice thread, indeed.

The Refs still jobbed us, though. But regardless, that's over and done with.

Now we're all focused on filing Tampering charges with the Wild.

The Devils definitely caused a lot of constipation for LA fans, that's for sure. Game 6 was basically our Ex-Lax. Hell of a battle all series. Could have gone either way.

I went to a couple games of the Final in Anaheim when the Devils won (thanks for beating them, BTW) and just couldn't get over how unreal Brodeur was. He's still got it today. An amazing talent. You've all been very spoiled to have bedrock in net like that for so many years.

Met a handful of Devils fans at Staples for this run. Classy bunch. Definitely die-hards to show up in the road team barn for Game 4 when down 3-0 in the series. Gave them a lot of props for that.

Let's meet again next year.

I can't even hate on the Kings, right after the game as I was driving to work I thought back to a lifelong Kings fan I sat next to at a NJ/LA sunday afternoon game a couple seasons ago. We were the only people in the section (somewhere in the 200's) during the game and it was nice just sitting there enjoying the game and talking about our teams, and all the kids both teams had coming up in the organization. We blew it in the last minute (we did that an awful lot that year) but I couldn't even be mad about it. That was one of the best games i went to that year just because I was able to have such a great conversation with another passionate hockey fan for its entire duration.

I think the gentlemans name was Steven, I hope you're one happy dude right now man.

Are you talking about the game were we were up 2-1, then Simmonds and Doughty scored in the last two minutes and we lost 3-2 in regulation?
January 31, 2010
I remember that game having a packed crowd, attendance was a sellout, 17,625.
Hard to believe you were the only ones in your section.
Unless you are referring to another game.

Still pretty happy for the Kings. The real fans seem great, and they deserve a winner. I like seeing teams that don't get a chance much to win. One thing I'm happy for the Kings is they couldn't pull out a Cup win with Gretzky, but they finally got one long overdue. I was pulling for the Kings the first 3 rounds by the way!

Now I wonder if I should have been more careful for what I wished for?
