Yeah but are we really going to keep it that accurate? Unless we carry this same group into a 2013 7 round mock the decision to pick 3 times does nothing but screw LA out of a first round selection. CBJ already has two picks. I think that's enough just for the sake of a hypothetical draft.

Meh. I grew up liking the Red Wings cause of Stevie Y and Lidstrom, a few Ducks/Wings playoff games later we were done. He told me on Twitter that he grew up being a huge fan of the Ducks.

He even told the NHL in his bio that he was a Stars fan.

I'm going to give Jumpier another 30 minutes or so to get on and make his pick before I auto him due to the fact I didn't give the top five much notice about starting.

I know that I'm not part of your Mock but if your are going to auto pick for the Islanders may i suggest Murray as he would be the most logical pick from an Islander fan's standpoint?

Isles fans seemed completely torn. Murray was gone though, and Forsberg is not an option now.

2 The Detroit Red Wings' first-round pick will go to the Tampa Bay Lightning as the result of a trade on February 21, 2012 that sent Kyle Quincey to Detroit in exchange for Sebastien Piche and this pick.
3 The Nashville Predators' first-round pick will go to the Buffalo Sabres as the result of a trade on February 27, 2012 that sent Paul Gaustad and a fourth-round draft pick in 2013 to Nashville in exchange for this pick.
4 The New Jersey Devils have to forfeit one first-round pick between 2011 (which they didn't opt to do) and 2014 at their own choice as a result of penalty sanction due to cap circumvention when signing Ilya Kovalchuk.

Next? This is moving entirely too slow. We're 4 picks in and the day is almost over.

I'm willing to take suggestions. A two hour clock really isn't that slow. We also got a slow start because the notice that this was starting wasn't great.

The Anaheim Ducks are proud to select with the 6th overall pick, from the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL: Matthew Dumba

We're excited to select Matt Dumba at 6, we would've liked a center here, but Matt's strentgh, upside and overall talent were just too tempting to pass up here. Matt joins a terrific core of young blueliners with Cam Fowler, Luca Sbisa, Sami Vatanen, Mat Clark, Andy Welinski among others. We hope Matt will compliment young Cam Fowler well and form a dynamic pairing for years to come.

Anaheim Ducks 2012 Draft:
6th overall: Matt Dumba

Minnesota PM'd

The Minnesota Wild select

Teuvo Teräväinen

The Minnesota Wild are thrilled to add another very skilled prospect to their already impressive pool. While most were thinking a defenseman at this spot, we're more so concerned about finding the best player available and work from there. We think Teuvo's skating and shooting will be an asset in this organization for a very long time.

*Carolina notified.

BAD time for me to be on the clock... Didn't expect that quickly. Being on the west coast, I was still at school

Sorry about that... Didn't think I would need a list and thought I would make it back

Would you have picked Murray for the Isles?

This is taking way too long. No way we get 7 rounds done.

It was probably an unrealistic goal anyways. I'm up for suggestions if you know a way to make it go faster but other than that, we kind of have to wait for others.

I have an idea. Have each GM make a list of 10 or so guys that they think are projected to go about where there gonna pick. We'll do about 2 or 3 rounds a day, then GM's can make a list for the next day.

I still think the draft can go faster if everybody was here, but we all have outside commitments and priorities first. If some is not here, wait five minutes, then pick off of their submitted list. I don't think this is perfect, but it's just an idea I have that may work.
