Go out on a limb but what if Montreal did pick him up at the league minimum see what he can do the dude has experience if they draft one of the Russian C's he can help them along he can take on a position with the club if he calls it quits ...would be a useful guy in the front office in some capacity and a buddy for Markov and Emelin. That would make sense.

This is essentially the only possibility here. The last time he played well was in MTL. Though he was still very inconsistent there; people see that time through rose-coloured glasses. Anywhere else it would not work. The effort he gave on OTT was absolutely pathetic. He made a mockery of professional sports.
