New Jersey Devils versus the NHL (Devil's Legacy So Far)

The Devils are one of the top teams in all of NHL History! But the one amazing thing is that after all of these winning years we are still not over .500 when you count what the franchise did while in Colorado and Kansas City. That should tell you how bad those teams were. But our ability to reach the Cup Finals and win is among the best in League history.

1260 losses 1313 wins 328 ties 67 overtime losses 2915 points .491 winning pct.

Most Cup Wins Percentage (Cup Wins divided by seasons played)
1. Montreal 24.4%
2. Edmonton 15.6%
3. Toronto 13.8%
4. Detroit 12.9%
5. New York Islanders 10.2%
6. New Jersey Devils 08.1%

Most Cup Appearances Percentage (Competed in Finals divided by seasons played)
1. Montreal 36.1%
2. Detroit
3. Toronto
4. Edmonton
5. Boston
6. Philadelphia
7. New Jersey 13.5%

Longest Without A Cup Win
1. St. Louis 44 years
2. Vancouver 41 years
3. Buffalo 41 years
4. Washington 37 years
5. Phoenix 32 years
6. San Jose 20 years

It must be very painful to be a Blues, Canuck, Sabres, or Capitals fan over the years.

I think you can count on one hand how many people here that cared about the KC Scouts or Colorado Rockies.

Those teams were part of our history but for practical reasons it's better to look at records from 1982 on, the New Jersey Devils.

Re-do your stats and %'s above from 1982 on and let's see the difference.

I'm surprised by the lack of Rangers.

Wait... no, I'm not.
