That stint he had on the third line for the last couple months was pretty good. He has great chemistry with Devo and KP.

Yeah, I'll speak up against that. It has been a great line in the past, sure. Getzlaf and Perry play their game. Ryan, at best, can be a fantastic complimentary player on that line, IMO. When those three are at the top of their game, it's the best line in the league. That said, Ryan's too talented to keep being used as a great complimentary player. Getzlaf and Perry don't need a $5M+ talent to play with them for it to be a very productive line. They need a player that fits their style of play, and they'll do their thing. When they (and by that I most importantly mean Getzlaf) are not on their game, the line isn't going to be overly productive, no matter who that third guy on the line is, because their style dictates the line's play too much for the third player to turn things around. I believe that we do not get as much out of those three guys when they are together as we could when we just get a good complimentary player for the twins and have Ryan as a more dominating part of another line.

I really don't think we will, or should be in the market for Parenteau. Based on his numbers and the limited market, he could easily end up getting $5M somewhere. Don't get me wrong, I see what you're thinking, and having him to play with Teemu has potential, but I don't think he's the type of guy we should overpay for, and that's almost certainly going to be required.

Flames just traded for and signed Wideman...so glad we didnt get stuck with him, especially at that cost.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Wideman gets $5.2M per year for five years.

Holy crap. Wideman signed to Flames for $5.25m per year (5 years). So I guess we'll sign Suter for $15m a year?

That one is risky. I wouldn't have wanted that contract anywhere near this team.

It is going to be scary to see what Carle will get on the free agent market. I think we should off him what Coburn(4.5) got and if he doesn't want it, he can walk.

Lol @ Wideman. This is going to be a trolltastic July 1st.

So glad we didn't get him. Hoping we can snag Carle for something under $5M per. Maybe a deal like 4/$18.

Eric Stephens: Is Jay Bouwmeester overpaid? Yep. But he's at $6.6M for just two more years and wouldn't mess up Ducks salary structure. Eats big minutes.

How physical is Ryan guys? I've seen youtube videos of him throwing big hits, but does he use his size often as he should? I looked up his hit totals and he's at 100 which isn't bad, what do you guys think?

Certainly not as much as he could. But IMO, he'd still help the Sabres a lot in that area.

What would you guys think of a deal like Voracek, Meszaros and Cousins for Ryan? Voracek could come close to replacing Ryans point production as soon as next year. He's not nearly as dynamic a goal scorer, but he IS a very good 2-way winger with 65-75pt upside. Mez would slip easily into your top 4, if not your top pairing, and Cousins is a good 2nd-3rd line Checking Center prospect, who also has a decent offensive upside, and IMO could be ready for the NHL as soon as this season.

just throwing stuff out there, idk. it'd be a lot to give up from our end, and i know a lot of my fellow fans have expressed their opposition of my proposal, but it's likely what it would take (value wise at least) to make something happen. Thoughts? Apologies if this particular offer has already been discussed.

Schenn has to be involved in a deal for the Ducks to even listen.

Our response is still the same. If Schenn or Couturier aren't available, then we have every reason to look elsewhere.
