Going with Nashville. Just a hunch, but I think their defense will carry them in the West and for a change it may be the Eastern Conference that beats up on each other more than the West--no way the winner of Philly/Pittsburgh can win it all after the drain of that series.

Tough decision between Vancouver and Pittsburgh. New York and Nashville could also sneak in there.

I voted for the Rangers. I think Pitt is going to be beat down during the Philly series.

That's a pretty good point. Philly and New York would be two tough series back-to-back.

If Pittsburgh wins the opening series they win the cup, if Philly wins, then Boston wins the cup. I don't think there is a team in the west that can beat Pittsburgh or Boston in the finals.

I'm really going to have to think about this one. I might actually be trending towards Capn's line of thinking. I would like to say the Blues, but they spent a lot of energy to get to this point and they are inexperienced in the playoffs.

I don't think the Bruins will repeat. Pens or Rangers out of the East maybe, although I won't discount the Devils. I am not discounting Vancouver either.

I get the feeling that San Jose might do something this year.

I hope the Divers will never win the Cup. They had hard time playing against non-playoffs teams recently. Kesler had 1 point in 11 games. Daniel is out. At most 2nd round.
Defense wins championships. I hope this is the Nashville year.

I don't care for the Pittsburgh club but that doesn't mean they don't have the best team in the league...

I do like Malkin, I like Russians in general.

Went with Vancouver... I think they'll actually get it done this year.

Although, my 2nd pick would be St. Louis, those goalies are on fire this year.

If it's in the East, I'd go Rangers.

The worst of it is, watching tonight's games will only demonstrate how far the Jackets must go to become a factor in these competitions.

So defense wins championships?

Kesler-Pahlsson-Malhotra down the middle and a defense corp of

Edler-Salo
Hamhuis-Bieksa
Rome-Tanev

Isn't good enough defensively? I disagree. Add to that good offense, possibly the best tandem of goaltenders, and plenty of playoff experience.

Voted LA because it's the only result that could actually hurt the CBJ in any real tangible way. Gotta think the "keep piling on Columbus" factor is worth a bump in their Vegas odds.

I took the Blues=hot goaltending & an experienced coach but many are in for the first time (or at least first time with a real chance). Just a hunch.
