At any rate, will be interesting to see how Lindback handles a regular load of games at this level, especially if he has some health issues. All the best, need to seriously address the D though now.
Iserlohn Roosters of the German DEL actually.

You were expecting too much for a defenseman we were begging to waive in December. Unproven doesn't mean bad. Roloson was proven, Marc Denis was proven.

Great trade, I am looking forward to seeing in a Lightning uniform.

Im now wondering if Yzerman keeps Garon around. Sign Harding to compete for the starting role? Let Tik, Helenius and Garon play for the back-up role?

I'm not high on Lindback. I would much rather have Bernier, Schnider, or Rask.

Possibly a max contract issue. Gives Yzerman the ability to trade for another player without having Carons contract as one of the 50 allotted.

I dunno.

We paid one second too many for Lindback. Hes giant and very talented. But having a chronic disease that effects stamina worries me in a goalie that is supposed to play 60ish games a year plus playoffs straight through.

I also hate the fact that we will be going into yet another season with a huge question mark in goal. I just hope between the 5 we now have, at least one of them freaking steps up.

I didn't know he was going to the KHL. I thought he wanted to come back to try to audition for other teams to look at him

Signed March 19 to a one-year prorated contract after the season-ending groin injury to Mathieu Garon and the Lightning's failed experiment with AHL Norfolk's Dustin Tokarski, Caron, 31, is along for a ride he hopes leads to a permanent gig somewhere in the NHL.

"It's kind of like a tryout," he said. "We'll see what happens. It could go one way, or it could go wrong, but I'll do my best. I'm going to have a blast."
Quote:
"I told myself if I was ever going to give it another shot, I would be more ready for it, and I think I am," said Caron, who was 25-23-0 this season for Iserlohn in Germany with a 2.57 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.

"Now I'm more laid back. I go with the flow. I'm just going to enjoy my time here and do my best and try to do a show."

This is not the first time we've gotten a goalie from Nashville.

Yep, I stand corrected about the KHL, he was there in 10/11 but then in the German league in 11/12 before the Bolts signed him.

But I thought I read somewhere after the season ended that he had committed back to his previous team. I was thinking it had been a KHL team.

Thoughts on Kyle Wilson? I don't know much about him other than the fact that he's 27 years old and on a one-way deal for 2012-13.

I'm okay with this. Not overly excited, but I think paying 2 seconds isnt the biggest issue.

I would have preferred Neuvirth though. But, oh well Lindback is my new favorite NHL goalie. I'm willing to give the kid a chance

I believe our goalie situation is dealt with now. We now have our presumed #1 plus a nice situation at the backup with Garon/Helenius. All while not giving up the #19 pick, which could help in getting a defenseman now too if SFY wants.

And Lindback is huge. I was at the game in 2010 when he played against us.

Now property of 4 NHL teams in 4 seasons, plus was originally drafted by Minny in '04 and not signed, so the fact he didn't stick with any of them doesn't strike me as the greatest of resumes, but I don't know anything else about him.

Need input from MIN/WAS/CBJ/NAS fans I guess.

See who's left come training camp and just let them fight it out, including Lindback.

Above all, don't tell Garon he's the #1 guy.

Helenius and Garon are subject to Waivers. Lindback Tokarski and Janus are not.

Lindback obviously isnt being sent down, and I dont think they want to lose Helenius on waivers.

Something tells me we will see Helenius or Garon moved out in a trade now. Im not sure how I feel going with Lindback/Helenius tandem.

Exactly right. I would have rather had Bernier or Schneider, but we knew they were going to be ultra pricey. At some point in time, you've got to give a guy a chance to go from unproven to proven.

And we still have both firsts and at least one second. It's not a steal for us, but it's a good goalie. I think Lindback will be a good pickup. He's going to need to be watched carefully for fatigue, but we have some good netminders behind him for backup.

Washington never would have dealt with a division rival, which we still are for the near future. Am surprised Lindback is who Yzerman had narrowed in on, but at least the move is now made. Time now to fix the defense.

Told #CBJ made mutliple offers to #Predators in attempt to get G Anders Lindback. Not a surprise the #Preds wouldn't trade him in division.

Unfortunately for Anders Lindback Stillís Disease seems to be a serious arthritic disease which suggests his career may be affected. I hope SFY's medical advice on him was more optimistic.

http://www.themaskbetweenthepipes.co...-personal.html

http://www.stillsdisease.org/index.php/treatment/

"It's a very good haul for GM David Poile, for a backup goalie that clearly was never going to usurp Rinne from the No. 1 spot given his long-term deal.

And after Semyon Varlamov and the Colorado Avalanche last season, it's the second time in two summers that a general manager paid a higher freight for a goaltender than he would have via an offer sheet. But Stevie Y's not an offer sheet kind of guy.

Does this move solidify the Tampa Bay goaltending? Is Lindback the long-term answer? Or is he going to be yet another goaltender developed by the Predators and then smartly discarded as the pipeline produces another one?"
