Favorite Kings goal- 2012 playoffs

We had so many amazing moments this year, but the ones that matter most are when the pucks are sliding past the red line into the net for us. I haven't had the chance to go back and watch all the games yet (which I will, over and over) but the goal that stands out in my mind as the best would be Kopi's in OT, game 1 vs. the Devils. The game had been close enough to make us nervous, with the uncertainty of starting a new series, and the pressure of the Finals, then add the nerves of overtime as well... and that all changed to joy as Kopi masterfully put that puck past Brodeur. I'll never forget the feeling of taking that game, and what it meant for our chances of taking it all.

Anyone else have a goal from this years run that stands out as a favorite?

That 4 goal first period in St. Louis for game 2. My god what a display that was.

Kopitar's shortly during that 4-0 stretch was probably my favorite goal of the playoffs.

Carter's Overtime goal in Game 2. I felt we had a 90% chance of winning it coming home up 2.

Stoll's OT goal in game 5 against the Canucks.

That seemed to really kick it off for me.

If I had to pick one it would be Kopitar's OT goal in game one.

Gonna go with Kopitar's goal against Brodeur in OT as well. Just seeing him pull off a move like that against one of the greatest goalies in NHL and playoff history. That takes skill, composure and some clutch play to pull off a maneuver like that in a critical moment. Hopefully Kopitar's playoff performance earns him some recognition as one of the best all around centers in the game.

It has to be Kopi's OT goal from SCF game 1. That was an epic goal.

Sick goal indeed. I'd almost forgotten about that stellar first period with the recent excitement of the finals in my mind. I know which game I'm watching tonight now

For me it was Drew Doughty's goal against the Devils. No one even bothered to poke the puck away, he just skated through everyone and scored.

And even then some Jersey fans were saying he fanned on the shot, talking about the the blade's angle and all, LOL. Amazing what some people think sometimes.

I'd say the same. My second would be the one Brown scored on Smith in gm 1, where he ripped it over his shoulder.

Lewis' goal to make it 3-0. That's when I began to taste it.

No mention of Drew Doughty doing his best Bobby Orr-impression for that goal?

How the hell did Kopi get so many breakaways and partial breakaways in the playoffs I'm certain he got more in those games than he did all season...

I *really* like the one where he undressed Smith and slid it 5-hole...dirty move on a goalie I hate. Beautiful.

That one did feel good, didn't it?

It's amazing how I still get that feeling of elation, even after watching these goals over and over. Still a rush of happiness each time it slides into the net.

The one MN14 posted above may be my new favorite for the day. Kopi makes it look so effortless while Smith makes it look so hard
