Belcher/Okami 2 set for UFC 155. That card is getting stacked.

One at a time folks. Lol.

Also, lets be honest here, your dislike for Anderson will never go away no matter what he does or who he fights. You'll bash him before and after every fight regardless. It's always been that way.
My dislike for him will likely never go away, that is true. But that doesn't mean my criticism is without merit. Does he deserve credit for stepping up to save the Jones card? Well he did it after the fact, so who knows for sure. Was it simply a smart PR move, or would he have actually fought on short notice to save the card? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, so he deserves credit for that.

This is a fairly high profile fight in his home country, not to mention an absolute cake matchup, so while it's nice to add to the card, let's face it, the fight is a joke. You literally could not pick a guy at 205 that would be a better combination of big name, along with zero threat. If I was managing Silva and could match him up with any fighter in the UFC I would tell him you should fight at 205 against Bonnar. Forrest was the same thing. A jack of all trades type who isn't great at anything and doesn't have any power. Silva's around -1200 give or take and honestly even that's way too low.

Ok, he doesn't want to cut to 185 on short notice. No problem. Totally understandable. Fight Sonnen at 205. J/K. Rashad's not doing anything, why not fight him? At least that's not a squash match. I'd honestly put Bonnar's chances maybe at one in a hundred. I'll tell you a fight I actually would've been interested in seeing, Anderson vs. Ortiz. I know Tito's not what he once was, but he's a bigger name than Bonnar, and he at least has the ability to take Anderson down and pose at least some form of a threat. Not to mention it would've been one of the biggest name fights of all-time. I also would've liked to see the UFC sign Fedor to a one fight deal and have Silva fight him. That would've been very interesting.

It's easy to suggest a bunch of other competitors for Silva to face at 205, but there's no guarantee any of those guys would've taken a fight on short notice against arguably the greatest fighter ever. I'd be kinda surprised if Bonnar was the first guy the UFC called, or maybe Silva's camp suggested him? Who knows.

I don't give Bonnar much of a chance, but he does have the size and reach advantage and is a black belt in BJJ. If he can close the distance and outmuscle Silva and get him down he'll be a lot more effective than Chael on top. Bonnar's also a tough mofo and I don't think we'll see him get KO'ed unless he pulls a similar silly game plan like Forrest. My guess is that Anderson took this fight knowing he'll be able to dance around for 3 rounds, avoid any takedowns, and cruise to an easy decision and paycheque. I hope I'm wrong.

Makes sense but how long will Jones have to wait then?

Hendo has turned down a couple of fights and wanted to wait for the title shot like Rashad did and ended up getting hurt. Machida has also turned down a couple of title shots. So it's a good fight to determine the true #1 contender.

Does Jones wait for the winner and sit out for the next six months or so?

Hendo's the only top guy left that Jones hasn't smoked. I'd rather him just wait than risk the chance of Machida beating him and then getting the rematch. I'd at least like to see Hendo-Jones (even though I don't see it going well for him).

I would love to see Machida go to Strikeforce if he's not interested in a Jones rematch. It would be amazing to see him fight Mousasi.

That will be a great fight.

Tough one for me as I really like both fighters.

Tough fight to call too.

I really hope Hendo wins as I still want to see him fight Jones over virtually anyone else at the moment.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Machida retires Hendo like he did Couture....Team Quest killer.

Has it been confirmed that Griffin/Sonnen and Machida/Henderson are both happening there?

We both know it's just a matter of time. But even if you take both those fights out, we're still getting hosed yet again..

You sure like to whine about Montreal getting "hosed". It looks like a decent enough card to me. It's obviously not going to be as stacked as the year end card so why even compare them. UFC 152 didn't look any better than the Montreal card until the Jones title fight was moved to it due to 151 being cancelled. Could the card be better? Sure, but I wouldn't say you're getting hosed.

The UFC is intertwined with the tourism business in Vegas so I don't know why anyone would be surprised that they get more stacked cards than other places. The Montreal card has some pretty entertaining fighters on there, and considering that every Montreal card has been loaded with Canadian fighters, let's be honest the name value for Montreal cards is always going to be lacking.

Not only comparing it to a year end card, comparing it to one that doesn't even have some of the fights even close to confirmed. There's no way they put all of that on the Vegas card IMO.

The Montreal card has one of the most interesting main events of the year. Kampmann/Hendricks is a good bout. It could absolutely use another main card fight, but they still could add something.

Machida/Hendo won't be on the year end card, that's a main event fight. Also, Sonnen/Griffin hasn't even been confirmed yet.

Canadian events are always thin. They're thin because they can be.

Why would they stack our cards when we line up like sheep to buy the tickets?
