I would actually be quite interested in a fight between Struve and Werdum, and I for one would not write off Struve from winning, not saying I'd favour him, but he'd have more than just a punchers chance.
Mir/Struve is an ideal match to make...Struve gets a top 10 former champ that would be a good measuring stick for him. Mir would have a chance to get back on track..call Joe Silva.
Werdum has the advantage on the ground, but Struve is no slouch there either.
It certainly isnt the squash match you guys are trying to make it out to be.
Miocic was a top level striker. He just got outgunned at his own game.

If we were setting this fight up after Werdum/Overeem I would agree. After watching how much Werdums striking has improved in the Nelson & Russow fights, I think Werdum has a clear striking advantage.
I like Werdum in that fight, but I like that fight a ton from a style standup. I think Werdum is a bit better everywhere as well but not so much that Struve can't overcome it.
I also wonder if the UFC would give Struve a call to fight Cormier, I'd love to see that fight.
Struve has one decision, win or loss, in thirty fights.
He is on a four fight win streak and he just demolished a much better striker than either Russo or Nelson are/were.

Agreed, Struve is legit and i like watching him fight cause they never go to a decision and he hangs it all on the line. He next opponent should be a Top 10-15 fighter, maybe Big Nog if he wins his next fight. If Struve wins that fight then he needs to fight a Top 10 heavyweight.

I was thinking about this today also, it's really a great replacement with Struve coming off a great performance & fresh in everyone's mind. It certainly doesn't hurt that Dana has been calling him a top 10 HW....
First Mir, now Rockhold out of the November SF card. They really need to pull the plug on Strikeforce.

Yeah, Luke and then McMann both getting hurt means that this card had a good shot at getting cancelled as well, can't imagine that makes Showtime too happy.
