I agree. A catchweight fight only makes sense when guys are trying to shed weight and move down.

Hmm, I wonder if this will be the card scheduled for Seattle? I hope so.

I just don't know how to explain Sonnen's comment about not wanting to cut to 185 to face said fighter. Don't see how that can be explained as him fighting a guy that is fighting at 205 right now, why not just fight at 205? Why fight at 200? I can however see Sonnen making an off-hand comment about a 185'er that he doesn't respect(Wanderlei/Belfort) and how they aren't worth his time(aka cutting weight to fight them).

Anyways, no big deal. I'd rather see Sonnen fight a real 205lb guy but I'll see what happens.
Same here. As long as Anderson continues to rule the 185 division Chael should look at getting a fresh start at 205.

Well Babalu signed with Bellator today, putting his grudge match with Sonnen on hold.

Dana says Cain vs Junior 2 is going down on 12/29. He couldn't remember the date but that seems like it. Overeem will have to wait.

I hope Overeem gets a fight on that card just to limit the ring rust and I would not be surprised if the UFC wanted to end the year with a bang by putting Henderson-Diaz as co main-event. There's a ton of good match-ups coming up from here till the end of the year. Hopefully Montreal gets a couple, cause it's about damn time we get a decent card and not just a good main-event.

Montreal is getting GSP/Condit and Kampmann/Hendricks, among others.

Be glad the UFC comes to Montreal on a yearly basis.

Montreal also had Shogun v Chuck, which was probably one of the best co-main events of the last last 5 years. I'd have to look back at their other events, but us Vancouver fans (Nunes/Florian, Barry/Crocop) won't be giving Montreal any sympathy.

I'm still hoping they add a co-main to UFC 151. Probably unlikely.

Yea, unfortunately they likely won't. Looks like they're content selling that one just on Jones/Hendo alone which frankly sucks. Not much different than the Rashad/Jones card really.

Vancouver fans will need to clean up your mickey mouse local politicians before the UFC ever comes back.

I'm not really too worried about it. I have fun seeing the fights here, but watching the UFC in a large arena isn't that enjoyable for me anyway unless you get really good seats.

It sounds like we'll get a card in Seattle sometime late this year or early next year, but aside from that I'd rather see them when I'm in Vegas because MGM and Mandalay are both great places to watch a fight.

Chael just announced that he's fighting Forrest at UFC 155 in December.

Forrest is close to being done but he's a big LHW so it should still be a good test for Chael. Not the best fight they could have put together for Chael at LHW but I don't mind it.

Not likely to be the most entertaining fight out there, but like you said, will be a good test for Chael to see where he stands in the 205 division.

Its exactly the fight I wanted for Chael, a fight he can win at 205. "Grudge match" obviously, since they already fought. I knew they weren't moving him up to fight 185er at 200lbs, ridiculous concept that people had dreamed up.

And he obviously wasn't fighting a 205'er at 200, an even more ridiculous idea. Like I said, that comment from Chael on his Twitter was most likely just Chael talk and had nothing to do with this fight with Forrest.

I like that fight. Even though Forrest hasn't looked great lately he's absolutely huge so that will be an interesting test for a wrestler like Chael.

No, it was ridiculous to think two 185ers were both moving up for a catchweight bout because it has never happened in the UFC, aside from short notice. And look, it still hasn't happened. Whether or not he fought a 205er at 205 or 200 wasn't really the point, it was that he needed to either stay at 185 or if he was moving up he had to fight a legit 205lb guy.

And when was the last 200lbs catchweight fight? What's your point here? My point is that I don't believe that comment from Chael on his twitter account had anything to do with setting up this fight with Chael and rather just Chael being Chael.

But anyway, I'm glad that this is the fight that will be happening. I wonder if Rashad will be fighting at 185 or 205? Rashad/Weidman would be sick.

I think my point has been fairly obvious from when it was first discussed in this thread - it wasn't going to be Chael vs a 185er at a catchweight because that fight made no sense for anyone.

No idea for Rashad, but I would prefer he didn't fight Weidman. I'm not even going to hazard a guess until his weight class is clear. I think Weidman, Boetsch, Okami, and Shields will all pair up. Probably Weidman v Boetsch and Okami v Shields.

I hope they do Shogun/Mauler personally. I think they will give Rashad an easier fight there, to potentially set up a Sonnen/Rashad fight. No idea who, maybe Lil Nog.

I'd like to see the winner of Bisping/Stann fight Rashad for a title shot (assuming Anderson won't fight Weidman).

MMA Junkie has confirmed the following fights for UFC on FOX 5 in December:

Henderson vs Diaz (LW title fight)
Shogun vs Gustafsson
Penn vs MacDonald

http://mmajunkie.com/news/30172/ufc-...-macdonald.mma

Injuries better not ruin that stacked card. I can't believe that's actually going to be a free card.
