I guess the media out of Peg has nothing better to do than to create horror stories which just influence fans to question the loyalty of their players. Wonder if my media has figured out yet that the fans actually want the team to stick around there.

I don't see what the big deal is of living in whatever city playing in the NHL. During the regular season you're supposed to be living hockey. These supposedly desirable cities seem like a fair haven for underachieving most of the time. Too much fun equals too many distractions.

The Islanders can get immediate help...and for once not be a lottery team. And the Jets get an insane young center with a huge upside, + the 4th overall.

The Jets then don't have to worry if Burmistov leaves, and they can have tons of talent down the middle with Antropov, Scheifele, Strome.
Deal! Was really disappointed Strome didn't fall to us last year.

So RDS is in Winnipeg now? Good to know.

Exactly. Doesn't stop the bonehead proposals though thinking that the Jets would be dealing from a position of weakness.

Ray get this done!! Sid and Kane together would heal all the pain of Staal being traded.

Yeah, Staal for Kane makes a lot of sense.

The Winnipeg fanbase will need something big coming back (not futures) to lessen the pain of losing Kane, IMO. Getting Staal keeps credibility with the organization as the fans are concerned.

One thing being overlooked: not only would Staal need to extend there, we'd have to have a similar understanding with Kane. Though, admittedly, we'd have more control since he's a RFA.

I'd be happy to do Staal + for Kane. The value of that plus is the hard part, but you could probably pry a 1st in 2013 out of me.

Since we are throwing out random trades. Here are a few just for fun.

Winnipeg: Enstrom + Kane + 3rd round

Buffalo: Myers + Ennis + 4th round

or

Winnipeg: Enstrom + Kane + Clitsome
Ottawa: Cowan + Neil + Greening + Foligno

you know your GM is just going to pull a Chara with Cowan anyway :p

Don't like either of these deals. Jets give up too much IMO

I hate to trade Stepan because the center depth would be thin.

But I have no problem trading the other 3 players.

true on the ottawa one. just havin some fun

Myers and Ennis are going to have high upsides I think. I really hope it is just a dumb rumor about Kane. I would hate for it to be true and end up having him play half hearted for us.

Why include him in the first place?

I like Myers, he's a stud. Ennis is skilled, but he doesn't help us get bigger upfront, which we need.

Just throwing around ideas trying to waste time at work...

How would a package like this look:
Scott Mayfield (long-term investment, but has 2nd pairing upside with size)
Anders Lee (Going to be a great 2nd-3rd liner, after next season he could jump straight to the NHL)
Michael Grabner (already a top-six forward, young, and signed to a long deal)
2nd Rounder (2012)
1st Rounder (4th overall)

In return WPG would send:
Evander Kane
1st Rounder (9th overall)

So the Jets get two B+ level prospects, a top-six forward, a 2nd rounder, and they move up from 9th overall to 4th overall. Isles get a stud 1st line winger, and move back to ninth where they can grab one of the many great defensemen that will still be on the board.

Good point! Have a man crush on Ennis since he did alright in my hockey pool as my alternate and propelled me to 2nd ha.
Would be awesome to see Bogo and Myers together!

This is pure win for the Islanders.

Amongst Jets fans, what's the consensus need(s) ?

1. Jets would likely ask for him. Don't they need centers?

2. I rather trade him instead of Kreider.

Sharks:

Pavelski + Clowe + 2nd
For
Kane

Or

Marleau + Murray
For

Something like that.
