Sheesh.
Nash is a 30 goals scorer making 7.8mil. I'll take the younger much more physical 30 goal scorer

How about this proposal:

To Rangers:

Evander Kane

To Jets:

Ryan McDonagh
Mike Rupp

Absolutely not, does not address the Jets weaknesses.

I don't know.

Put McDonagh with Bogosian and you're set for a decade.

Trade Enstrom for a young roster forward / and prospects.

A return for Enstrom will not be enough to replace what's lost with kane, I don't think. I like McDonagh a lot but I think it involves too many "what ifs" as far as trading Enstrom as well

People are making comparisons to player style.

If a young player is compared to Lidstrom, does that automatically mean that the person is claiming the youngster is going to win 7 Norris trophies, 4 Stanley Cups, and a Conn Smythe?

Hell no. McDonagh is a #1 defenseman. Kane is a #1 Center. Mike Rupp sucks and I hate him and I'll include him in any proposal.

No from the Rangers end. Ryan McDonagh is the centerpiece of our franchise.

McDonagh's value to the Rangers is only slightly less than Bogosian's value to the Jets.

McDonagh for Kane is a really interesting idea--from a neutral perspective--but I can't see either side adding significantly, let alone a true blue-chip piece.

Yeah. I don't see NYR ever parting with McDonagh. Pairing him with Bogosian does make my pants excited, though.

He put up 30 goals with Nik Antropov and Kyle wellwood feeding him the puck. It wasn't Martin St. Louis. It is not at all a stretch to say that he would lead the NHL in goals at some point in the future.

Seriously, Stamkos plays on a line with Teddy Purcell. A good player, but not an elite playmaker. He's with St. Louis on the powerplay, but he only had 12 PP goals compared to 48 even strength. Kane is a great scorer. Stamkos is a generational scorer.

Never said Kane was a better scorer. He will lead the league in goals in a season though. Ovy had 32 goals in 2010-11, Stamkos 48.

Wellwood and Antropov (burmistrov was the right winger for a large part of the season) are 4th liners on another team. Put him with someone who can pass and you'll have a future possible league leader in goals.

Jets fans, McDonagh, Kreider and Stepan are not being traded for anyone who is realistically available. Just not happening. Jets fans probably won't like the Rangers offer because their demands will be too steep. I'd be willing to give a 2012 or 2013 1st, a 2nd from the year that a 1st wasn't traded, JT Miller and Brandon Dubinsky as a final offer, which is very fair IMO.

I can hear Jets fans already... "wat!! No Lundqvist????" lol.

I'd trade Stepan/MDZ in a move for Kane +.

NO to Kreider or McD

First of all, Nash is a 30 goal scorer on AVERAGE. His best season saw him score 41 goals and dominate the NHL.

Stop comparing E. Kane to Rick Nash. Nash's worst year still would have him do better than Kane. Get it?

You would give up MDZ for Kane? Are you insane? It will never happen. MDZ is only going to get better. The only way Sather move's MDZ is for Nash, and even then, I doubt it.

A late first, a decent prospect, and a cap dump?

I'm willing to bet that E. Kane will never lead the league in goals, or get anywhere close to the top 10 players in the league. You don't actually believe this, do you?

In all fairness Kane is one dimensional. I was actually kind of surprised. Seeing him use the same move on the boards ever game and having no ability to create a play by passing to a streaking winger. That being said, a future 45-50 goal scorer is hard to find.
