Capitals Playoff MVP.

Having a small discussion with someone about who was more instrumental to us in the playoffs, Holtby or Alzner. I say Alzner, he says Holtby.

I thought this would make a good general poll, so I included others as well.

A stud defensively.

And he scored a couple of key goals.

Holtby is getting really overrated. Imo his numbers are very much a product of Hunter's system, and his poor rebound control stands out among other playoff goaltenders.

Having said that, I don't think there's a clear cut MVP this time around. Voted for Carlson.

Isn't this kind of like polling to see who's the skinniest kid at fat camp?

MVP never meant so little, as we won games as a team. Forced to choose, I vote Holtby. But your G often has to be your best player so no surprise there.

This thread needs life. Why not expand the discussion.

Best forward: Ovi
Best Dman: Maybe Green since offensive expectations are long gone. Carlson Hammer.
Unsung Hero: Hendricks and Ward

Worst forward: Aucoin or MJ.
Worst D: Sarge with Wideman close behind. At least Wideman added a little offense.

Thats like asking "who is the prettiest girl in Laurel?"

teams that lose in the 2nd round dont have MVP's

I voted Alzner because at the time he didn't have a vote yet, and he deserved one. Holtby, Alzner, and Carlson should all get it, IMO.

Totally agree.

I would also consider voting for Carlson and maybe Alzner.

i'd go with carlson. you'd think with some of the negative responses the caps sucked this year. they were one game away from the ECF.

what no Troy Brouwer option? imagine if he wasn't in the lineup.

I guess I'll vote Holtby. Backstrom would be a legit option too, stupid Rene Bourque.

It was Ovechkin, just like every other year.
