Jagr would help the PP by simply not allowing John Mitchell or Brian Boyle to ever see it.

Jackman resigned in St. Louis. 3 yrs, 9.5M.

He would have been a great fit.

Jagr would be a great stop-gap until Gaborik comes back.

I would love to see Jagr in a Rangers uniform next year.

How so? Does Jagr come complete with a time machine?

i think allot of these people who want jagr back need to realize that he wont be anywhere near the player he was when he left. i dont want to see another messier return/massive slip in play/nyr legacy tarnished. id prefer jagr not come back bc i dont think he will fix this teams core issues (bandaid is not a fix), nor do i want jagr remembered for anything other than positives such as his efforts getting this team back into the playoffs and holding franchise scoring records

Jagr and Whitney seem like appealing options, but at what price? They know they've gotta take a one year deal, so it probably comes down to a bidding war.

If we're going to take over-the-hill players, I'd rather sign Selanne than Jagr

Whitney 1 year deal. He is 40 but had 77 points and played all 82 games last season.

Guy LaFleur.

Marcel Dionne.

Wayne Gretzky......

I'm over it. These guys will always be associated with some one else's colors. Madison Square Garden should not be the NHL equivalent of a retirement home.

Bruins were basically a 1 month team. didnt they go 1 month withoout basically losing more than a game or 2? they went from last place to a big lead in the East, then fell back down to Earth. They were the Kings of the playoffs during that month, rampaging through every team, winning by 6, 7, 8 goals seemingly night in and night out.

It doesnt hurt to play in that awful division either. Rangers racked up more points playing against a division where over half the playoff teams in the East play in...and where the "worst" of which made it to the SCF. If the Rangers played in the Brooins Division they probably finish with 7-10 more points.

If Its a one year deal we can pretty much offer anything. Even if we resign MDZ, Prust, Stralman, Bickel and Biron and sign Schultz we are looking at 10+ in cap space to sign a RW or two.

Probably. the Northeast has been declining, The only consistent team is Boston. Sabres have pieces to win but they can't stay healthy/consistent. And their coach is incompetent and tries to coach like he did 10 years ago.

I would rather pass on Jagr. If they can't add a scorer who can help this team in the long-run just add a complimentary piece and go from there.

At this stage of the game, Jagr is only a complimentary piece.

Jagr is probably looking for a 1 year deal (or 2, but would take a 1).

Selanne is most likely not looking for just a 1 year deal. Who knows though.

I'll take either. Just plant Jagr on our PP and let him rip his one timer. That alone will improve our PP.

Because clearly, scoring 40 while being in his 40's means selanne is over the hill

Someone will give a him a 2-3 year deal. These players who just had good seasons at late ages arent going to take 1 year deals when they can still pull out a good contract.

As a matter of fact, Yes! I want one of those "Madden" trades you see on football forums. Nash for Bickel and a 7th in 2015.

So I saw that the Devils are about to be taken over by the NHL. So what does that mean? Will it be clamoring for a buyer like it is with the Yotes?

I'd sign Whitney for 2 years. Better than Mike Rupp for 3(!). Guy can provide serious depth to the third line if he suddenly loses everything that makes him good and it's still a fine signing.

That's all we need. Our top end talent is pretty much set. I don't see us getting another core player.

God I love that Nash thread on the trade board. It's just wave after wave of one fan from one team overpaying for Nash, Jackets fans jumping all over it, and then the rest of their fan base saying, "No, Nash is overpaid and overrated. You won't get that from us."
