No. We finally have a team that's being built in our order. From Lundqvist to defense and then worry about offense.

Taking away arguably our best defenseman would be a huge mistake.

Ducks fans want more. It came up before.

From a Rangers POV, yes. I think Del Zotto will be fine as our second pairing LHD. If we're going to move a LHD, I'd rather keep Del Zotto.

I also think I'm going to stop posting on the trade board. Ducks fans are going to want Staal+Stepan+

Staal was our best defenseman in the later rounds. His camp was the season. True, he was fresher, but he finally foind his form and timing. That's Marc Staal. Not the guy in mid january that the shortsighted fans hated. These are the brain donors that asked out loud why Staal wasn't up to par in January. No way am I basing decisions on their kangaroo court logic.

Daniel Bryan.

Ryan should have a much higher priority than Nash.

Slats should pursue him hard.

Probably not. Ryan's good but I have questions about how good he'd be without stacked linemates and other parts of his game.

I can get behind this.

This seems to be the package of the offseason.

While that's true, I think we've seen pretty much what Staal is going to offer. His vision and offensive awareness isn't exactly going to get much better. He's never going to have a huge shot from the type of stick he uses.

Del Zotto was also very good in the playoffs. He probably hit the pipe more than anyone else on our team - unlucky. Except what is fresh in everyone's mind is the last two games against the Devils. He can also still grow. I don't exactly think he's perfect for our PP and I think we should give McDonagh a look there, but he's a dangerous weapon even strength.

Unless we get a Goligoski type return, I think we should hold onto Del Zotto. And frankly, I think it's already written in the stars that one of our LHD will get traded.

I would trade Staal for Ryan. I would prefer to trade Staal instead of Stepan. Del Zotto can handle playing the left side on the 2nd pair.

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Stepan-Ryan
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan

We would have one of the best top 9 in the league.

Try to sign Schultz and sign a vet d like Jurcina.

Yeah, and that is a top-pairing all-star shutdown defenseman. What more do people want?

Yeah exactly. Even if stagnates, he's still a top defensive d-man in the league.

We need MDZ, Staal, Girard and McD. Hence Top 4. The other sited problem post playoffs was the defensive depth. I fail to see how trading one solves that issue. The coming trade will be from Dubinsky or Anisimov and our prospect pool.

And why is it always about points. Its not enough he was our best defender at times. He didn't score enough. Scuderi just won his second cup. Orpik was in two finals. Salvador ( the concussion victim) was a beast for finalist NJ. Many parts make a cup winner. Its probably wise not to move them away.

Strongly believe Staal is 10000000000000% OFF limits. On his game, could be top defensive D-man in the game.

The short-term memory on these boards is ridiculous.

It seems like Staal's return from his concussion was the first time people watched him play. Did people forget how good he was before that?

Watch how good he will be next year (if there is one) after he has a training camp. He will get his spot back on the first pair. Book it.

I think we're just better off moving on, since this is just a waste of time.

Staal over Stepan. Proven all star over potential. As long as Girardi and McD play 45 a night, we're set.

Salvador was a beast mostly because his offense took off through the roof in the playoffs.

And anyone who thinks we're going to continue running a top 4 of 3 LHD's and 1 RHD with none of our LHD's looking good on the right is kidding themselves.

Here's the thing though. We aren't trading any of those LHDs until we have a RHD come in and prove he can replace one of them. Rosy didn't get traded until after McD got called up and proved he could handle the minutes.

If having 3 LHDs is such a problem, then we should trade one of them for a top 4 RHD, not for a forward.

I proposed it about a year ago and I think that it got more than a 50% approval from both sides.

This board is nuts.

Staal for Ryan? The people offering this are going to be the same herbs who will be whining about having a lack of defense next off season.

You try and trade as many unproven pieces as possible, simply because they aren't proven in the NHL, and you try and refrain from trading as many pieces on a roster because of many more reasons (proven, team chemistry, etc).

Del Zotto can't handle 2nd pairing minutes, were you people watching him during the Devils series? He was a maniac. Michael Roszival would have made less mistakes! We may have single handedly lost the Devils series because of MDZ. It was that bad.

You try and trade as many unprovens as possible. 1st round picks, prospects, inconsistent players. Not, star for star.

You people are sickos.
