Just a little something for you Season ticket getters.

Tickets are later this year than others because the London Knights had to go out and find a new printing company to print the tickets and booklet after Phibbs Inc. went out of business . Also were delaying because they had to take Athanasiou's ticket out once they were told he had requested a trade.

Communication must have been at an all time low between the team and the ticket coordinator...Athanasiou requested a trade after the Memorial Cup from what I've heard.

Phibbs closed in March

Don't take this as me bustin chops...just havin some fun

I gotta get to the rink...I'm getting bored..LOL

I think Herbst will get some starts...although that knee surgery has me cringing...been down that road as a goaltender.

Phibbs was struggling for a while. We are family friends with the owner. Their only client pretty much was the Knights, not a bad client, but not once a year lol.

Back to hockey.

Actually, no its not. It's Dillon Liberty. His name was spelt wrong on the program

I was in attendance all day and have a few quick thoughts

- beyond the returnees, Remi Elgie and Alex Broadhurst were the best forwards out there. I was VERY impressed with Elie. Strong skater with good instincts. Finds open Ice well and protects the puck well. I honestly would be surprised to NOT see him on this squad but you guys no the number of spots available. He was definitely a standout. Broadhurst was very good and got better as the day went on.

- Zadorov is a tank. Skating needs work as he was blown by a few times but he's going to be a good one. I expect some glass replacements in London this season after some Zadorov hits

- Owen MacDonald was relentless out there. Good work ethic but I'd expect you guys won't have room for him

- Pawley was good too. Always in the play

- Is this Restoule kid expected to make the squad? He showed flashes but he wasn't too noticeable. I preferred other players.

- Marselis Subban was good. His gap control could be better but some more time developing will fix that.

- wasn't overly impressed with Centarome TBH. He was forcing passes all day and had trouble handling the pucks. Could be nerves on Day 1.

- Tait Seguin was a pest out there and it looked like everyone wanted a piece of him. He's got a future based on his ability to agitate. Decent skater with good puck pursuit. Obviously, won't be this year

Horvat was simply dominant out there especially in the afternoon game. He's going to have one he'll of a draft year and I'm glad I ranked him high in my prel rankings. Solid all around players are hard to come by and while he may not be tall he is so difficult to knock off the puck

Tierney is in for a big year too. Looked very good. He can stick handle in a phone booth

Domi was Domi - so good (offensively)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Enjoy the rest of camp.

I liked both Subban and Seguin too. But it's only been one day. Things change. Tomorrow it will probably other players standing out.

Restoule will see a couple games depending on how many injuries. Line 4 though.

Few facts:

Plays Center/Wing
shoots Left
Knights 2nd Round selection (2012)
Last count 5'10 174lbs At draft. Add 10 pounds to that.
Chicago Blackhawks 7th Round (2011)
Very Speedy
Puts pucks in the net, multiple per night on many occasions
Not afraid to battle in corners. Kind of a smaller Austin Watson.

In Barrie Colts land, Andreas Athanasiou scored a hat trick including one end to end rush.

I dont care how good he is in Barrie, i'm happy to see him outta here.

I attended camp as well, here are my thoughts on the new kids.

Broadhurst is a smart hockey player, good hands and good hockey IQ. I don't think he will be a dominate player in the OHL but he will produced points for us for sure. But, I was expecting way to much, with all the hype. He's a lot smaller than what I thought he was.

R. Elie, I remember him from last year and WOW, what a year can do. Anyone who says this kid is not on the team, must be blind man. This kid was creating chances, scored a hat trick, making his presence on the ice. When he's on the ice, you notice him right away. We need a 6.1 power forward on our team. Plain and simple.

Jammes and Pawley played together, they both played OK. With their skill set, I wanted to see more. T. Elie played well with them too, I like him, next year maybe.

Nevins does what he does best, grinds it out on the ice. He's a strong guy and will be our enforcer for the knights for sure.

Platzer was noticeable at certain points of the game but when he doesn't have to puck on his stick, he disappears. He needs to get more physical. Hope he's better tomorrow.

MacDonald works hard on the ice but had a little trouble time to time. I personally think he needs to work on his skills set and needs to get stronger. You can see how small he's on the ice. I don't know if he can handle the OHL when you weight 155 pounds give or take.

Restoule was not noticeable for me, a lot of better forwards before him.

Seguin played hard and stood his ground. Too bad we have so much talent. I love a kid that gives it all on the ice.

Zadorov is Amazing, just WOW, I couldn't stop staring at the kid when he's on the ice. I love a tall smooth skating defense with offensive skill, it's going to take him a few weeks to get adjusted and then watch out. He makes me think of a Ryan Sutter.

Liberati played well, you can see the patience with the puck and head up plays he does. I think this kid will be a future power play specialist for the knights. Great passer and poise on the ice.

Centorame played OK, not ready and will play Jr B

Di Lorenzo played OK too, you can see the potential, Jr B too.

Those were the only new kids who stood out today, if not mentioned, didn't notice you.

Now for the vets, they all played as expected. I was worried for Welychka but played better as the game went on.

IMO, I think the knights will have 15 forwards this year, and maybe 4 of them will be on a consistent rotation.

It's funny that I've read here from not 1 but 2 people that Subban impressed them. I was talking to one person and saw reports from many others that he really didn't belong on the ice. He has never impressed me(other than Minor Midget)..so right now I'm gonna lean towards the fact that he won't be on the radar....too many ahead of him on the depth chart.

My plan: Open up a twitter account called “OHL Insider” and gain as much followers as possible. Our individual names will be kept anonymous to the public.
You must:
• Attend/Watch games
• Have sources
• Be familiar with Twitter
• Be RELIABLE There will not be any rumour creating with no sources to back you up.
Email me at OHLInsiders@hotmail.com if you are interested.
Email should include
• Who your sources are. I need NAMES and/or POSITIONS
• What team you are most familiar with

Thanks,
KnightsInsider
I'd be interested....but I don't like revealing my sources. They have my word that I won't...or they wouldn't be sources for long

Well, good as long as you know people's sources and you promise not to share them........ But (don't take this the wrong way) but who are you? You're still asking people to identify their source..........

From yesterday scrimmages
Quote:
Youngins and bubble guys
Zadarov comes as advertised. Going to be fun watching him develop the next couple years. Impressive out there today.
Centarome, Di Lorenzo, Liberati looking to grab the 6th or 7th spot is my initial impression/ guess
Nevins should be pencilled into a reg lineup spot.
Pawley, Platzer, R Elie (looked good again this aft), MacDonald, Jammes, Restoule looking to snag the 11th-13th forward spots. Well see who steps up and makes the biggest impression tomorrow and thru the exxy sched. Well have a better idea after seeing these bubble guys in live exxy games
Update after this morning

Zadaorv- impressive, seems to like the physical game. Well see how he holds up in live action but Im impressed!

Of the 3 D mentioned above, Liberati stood out to me. Ahead of Centarome and Dilorenzo- not suprisingly as we heard hed progressed well and is a year older

Nevins take my 10th spot (we all seem to agree on the top 9)
Elie, as it stands now (only going by what Ive seen the last 2 days) gets my nod for 11th F.
Jammes didnt skate this morning,
Platzer gets my nod over MacDonald (for now but i reallly like the kid).
Pawley showed some offense but I think hes 13th/14th.
Restoule Im not sold on, but maybe worth keeping as depth F if HUnter wants the other young bubble guys playing jrB regularly.

So ill go with Nevins, Elie, PLatzer and theres one more spot open IF Ferry isnt playing F

EDIT- Id go Jammes as the other 4th liner/ sub F And let Pawley and MacDonald start in B with a good chance both will get an opportunity thru the year

Morning skates

Didnt worry bout the vets too much. Ollie skated today. The rest seemed to play as expected. Loose and easy skate.

Leroux and Restoule go. Restoule really needed to be convinced to drop em. I know these arent the camps of teh MAxner years but Ida thought he would have been a little more eager to show hes got some jam. (not sure if hes hurting or just not his style) Not much of a scrap til they fell and Leroux got a couple in.

Leroux moved up front as the game went on (audition of sorts?) Not sure theres room but he sure has been willing to go, albeit didnt really light anyone up (other than maybe Seguin who was giving up a lot of size and maybe age (?)

Elie stood out (again)
Pawley scored a few but I have him outside looking in as of now and only based on what others did in scrimmages and roles they can play.

NOne of these scrimmages take into account a players willingness to play within systems, how they are in the room, and what roles Mark/ Dale want guys to play and what they feel the team needs. Its pretty much shiny hockey

I have many sources:

4 players
1 billet (Olli Maatta's)
1 Scout
1 set of parents
Plus, I get to see them everyday. If they do not show, I know they are sick or injured.

That's alright, nobody knows who they are, and they have always been close family friends, sure they'll get over it.

Those are the rosters for this afternoon's game. Liberati, Di Lorenzo not on either team tells me that they will NOT be cut. Santino Centorame, however, is on the roster, telling me that they need more looks at him to be sure. I think will all be off to Junior B awaiting injuries or emergency call ups.

I thought Liberati was the best of the 3 bubble D, and should get to start here.
I think Dilorenzo and Centarome are close and well see if either is kept, but I wonder if some jrB with call up potential is the way to go instead of being a 7th guy. In and out of the lineup gives you a chance to learn at the O level but can also be frustrating for the kids. Well see
