First off..Maatta is a defenseman.

He'll likely be lining up with any of Hughes,Harrington or Raine at any given time. Dale Hunter juggles his D as much as he juggles his forwards. No pairing or line is set in stone.

I've never seen so many Londoners in one area of the internet before. It's weird.

But while the lockout is happening, I might as well reacquaint myself with my hometown team.

Captains were voted on by team members. No surprise at who was chosen. All the captains are well liked and respected in the dressing room...unlike Andreas Athanasiou...I've asked a couple players about him and I got words like: Dumbass, Idiot, So stupid and *******. Now we know why we got so little for him, just wanted him gone.

Most knew the issues a while ago.

Why bring that stuff up now? Hes been traded, the return was fine, no need to bring up anonymous quotes.

Game day!!!

Even after the long run last year, its seems too long.

McDavid, Im told, didnt look outta place.\ last night. Looking forward to seeing him, Donnay, Dansk and the other Otters.

Captains n Asst in place. Good choices (no brainer for C)

Busch Gardens (thatll take awhile to stick ) should be rockin tonight, giving the fans a chance to congratulate the team on last years success (banner raising Id imagine)

Time for the G battle in London to begin. Seems both should get a chance in the reg season to prove themselves, thou one has been better in preseason.

Exactly. Some of us were drumming that drum for ages and nobody would listen. He's gone and he's someone else's problem now. End of story.

Not sure bout that. He may miss tonight.
I know some suspensions can be bought back in POs but not sure exxy games.
LFP has him out for what's that worth

I know some were less than happy to see Fox get moved last year, and I said they'll be able to replace him. ( just to clarify, I'm a fan of fox type players)

I'm hoping Elie can step up into that role as early as the end of this year or next. Well see

Great game tonight. Mcdavid's coming to town. I expect the Knights to win, but I expect Mcdavid to be very impressive. He could have had a few Assists last night vs Niagara but was held of the scoresheet. I think he's pissed he lost and wants this one tonight.

I would NEVER expect a Flyers fan to cheer for arguably the most hated rival in all of sports..any team wearing a Rangers jersey....oh wait......

New York Rangers = hate em
Kitchener Rangers = hate em
Texas Rangers = hate em
Glasgow Rangers = hate em... but love the financial hardship they brought upon themselves

Walker Texas Ranger = hate the show.
The Lone Ranger = Tonto was the star
Night Ranger = they got it 1/2 right

See how it works?

Nevins is suspended and Bailie is the starter tonight.

If Mark Hunter was still the coach, you could bet the lines would stay the same for the most part. Though it's different this early in the season.

Mine:

Domi-Broadhurst-Griffith
Horvat-Tierney-Anderson
Rupert-Rupert-Welychka
Restoule-Elie-Platzer

Zadorov-Harrington
Maatta-Hughes
Ferry-Raine

Domi and Horvat mostly played left wing last year. Not sure if that will change or not. Tierney's line could be dominant as it showed to do well as the 4th line during the last playoff. Welychka and the Ruperts play the same style and the 4th line is probably accurate. Zadorov has showed that he can be better than both Maatta and Tinordi even if he's 17. He will eventually be the #1 d-man. I would not mess with the Maatta-Hughes pairing as they were effective last year. And the third pairing is probably a given. Work Jammes into the top 9 when he gets healthy.

Can't they buy people out of suspension like peterborough did?

Welychka showed great chemistry with Broadhurts in the exxys. PLUS How killer would an Anderson Rupert Rupert 3rd line be?

Here's a refresher of Anderson's physical ability.
