Erik Gudbranson & Jonathan Huberdeau to MTL

I am really curious what the pricetag from FLO would be...pretty high I imagine.

So were would the Panthers start to listen? How far would the Habs go? Discuss!

Both were recent 3rd overall picks, I'd have to imagine the starting point would be 3rd overall + Patches. Don't know why Florida would want to move either, though.

It would take more than Montreal would be willing to give up.

If Montreal is ging to be adding any players like those guys I suspect it would be as UFA signings and not in trades.

What would the point of trading for those guys be when they would just be creating holes somewhere else?

If you trade the wheels fom your car for a new engine it still won't go anywhere.

they are two of the main components of tallon's rebuild and then you can just imagine what they would cost.. My opinion is that it wont be worth it for montreal to trade for them, and it wont be worth it for florida to give them up

The price for Huberdeau would be astronomical. He is a future star player, a skilled C. Just what FLA need. They got Weiss that's it...

And Gudbranson would be expensive as well. Start by giving up Subban and your 1st rounder this year and add.

It would take a overpayment: Pacioretty + Subban + 3rd OAV for Huberdeau and Gudbranson.

Huberdeau fills a huge need for Florida. He's a skilled forward that plays C which Panthers are in dying need for. Gudbranson is a real good young D-man. And with Jovanovski, Campbell, Garrison possibly leaving they need to hold on to him.

Florida don't trade these players cause of their need for skilled players on these positions and due to their potential.

And Montreal won't give up Subban + Patches + 3rd OAV. No deal to be made here.

You're asking for two of the most valuable pieces to a team: future #1 centre/defenceman. Be prepared to overpay because FLA has no reason to trade either.

I more or less agree with this. I was thinking Subban+3rd overall, and then came to the conclusion Montreal would have to add a bit to make it a fair deal, and add a lot (Pacioretty) to make it an overpayment.

I'm sorry I don't agree with adding to either of those players, Pacioretty is already a 23 year old 30 goal scorer plays a big game and can continue down that road for years. Huberdeau if he hits that everyones happy because he reached his potential

Subban is a 23 year old Number 1 Defenseman and will only improve as the years go by, Gudranson will be lucky to reach subbans level.

I think either of them plus the third is an overpayment.

I think It would be 2 of the 3, Subban, Pacioretty and the third

Absolutely not. Pacioretty already belongs to the 30-30 club while Huberdeau is not yet play in the NHL. The 3rd overall probably will net us Galchenyuk, a center who will be equally good as Huberdeau. Subban is already a number 1 defenseman who can play big/tough minutes against the best forward. He is equally as good as Gudbranson. No way the Habs will make the trade.

Don't see why the Panthers would do this and it would take a huge over payment from the Habs. This is not going to happen and Tallon is building with those 2 young players

Neither is available, this is pointless.

By your logic Giroux isn't either.

He'll play that position when he's ready and accustomed to the NHL style of play, and that would be 2-4 years away.

Giroux was playing center in junior and continue in the NHL, Huberdeau never play center in junior or at WJC. Huberdeau won't make the NHL as Center, guarenteed.

Why would we trade a top 2 D already in Subban and a big winger that scored 30 goals in his first full year for a young but still unproven D and a prospect that has yet to prove anything in the NHL.

I don't care what people think about Huberdeau's potential but Bergevin would be nuts to pull this off let alone add the 3rd pick overall.

It would take a lot. Gudbranson is already a solid defender and Huberdeau is Florida's entire future. If Montreal was dumb enough to pay the price I'd laugh. Leblanc Beaulieu + 2012 first?
