Antropov is actually quite good. Personally I think a trade involving Clowe and Antropov would probably be the better over all deal.

I think I'm the last person on this board you should be saying undervalues Pavelski. Check the Nash thread on the trade forum, i'm driving people up the walls talking about Pavs.

Realistically Pavelski has two years left on his deal, will get paid a lot more after that, and Kane is probably going to be one of the best LW in the game in short order. We can probably lock him up for around Pavelski's $4m for awhile and it's a lot better option than Nash.

I'd love to get away with not adding much to Pavs, or a straight swap, but I was simply saying that's the most I would be ok with.

If we didn't have Couture, I wouldn't even consider trading Pavelski. But Evander Kane is the kind of player you do that for.

Pavelski, Thornton, Boyle, and all our first round picks for the next 8 years for E. Kane.

At the age of 20, Kane had more goals than Clowe has ever had and just 1 less than Pavs best year.

At 20, Pavs was playing high school kids and Clowe was too.

That's the only reason I would consider trading Pavelski for him as well. Pavs and Cootch are fairly interchangeable, whereas Kane provides many things we don't really have. I'd want maybe another prospect if we traded Pavs and a 1st, and another decent forward (with speed) if we traded for Pavs and Clowe.

Would kind of imply they are not trading him for Nash if they are shopping him to other teams it likely means Columbus rejected him as part of the deal. Wonder if it means they have some other package in mind, or are backing out all together?

its not we are undervaluing pavelski, its that your undervaluing kane.

kane is fast, physical and has a snapper most would kill for. he should be a 35-35 player for his career, with the potential for 40+. these players dont grow on trees, and hes only 22.

pavelski while a great center, doesnt get kane himself. our 1sts are usually late picks, so its likely it would be pavs+1st+something else.

i suggested vlasic, because quite frankley, i think thats the type of overpayment required to get kane in teal.

im imagining a lineup of

xxx-thornton-xxx
kane-marleau-havlat
clowe-couture-galliardi
winnik-desjardins-asham

xxx-burns
stuart-boyle
braun-demers

greiss
one of our prospects

niemi can net a top 4 dman + picks.

murray could net a young forward for thornton.

tons of depth dmen in FA if you want one for the 3rd pairing.

i think thats a cup contender when the pieces are filled in.

First off, if you get Kane he's going on Thornton's wing

Second I would leave Marleau at LW on Couture's wing, Couture centered by marleau and Havlat is a great potential line.

Which means we need either acquire a RW, or move Marleau to RW again, either is ok.

You are giving the high points for Kane. Not the deficits (defense). Include defensive play and Kane/Pavs is very uneven in terms of team effect, definite edge to Pavs. The closer comp is Couture and I would give Kane an infinitesimal edge on Couture. I do agree that players like E. Kane are rare.

When considering Pavs in trade, his faceoffs, PK and general defensive play are elite at a very reasonable contract. The slowdown offense of the Sharks absolutely requires faceoffs and no one does it better than Pavs. You can't buy plugs to cover the issue.

The pile of bull**** they keep slinging about the staff is making me wonder if we're going to be back here in October or whenever hockey starts again with the same pack of failures behind the bench.

That is a kickass lineup. Even if we only sign Moore instead of Stoll and Winchester instead of Tootoo. I love it. Lemme Capgeek it.

Please... don't remind the Miami Cheat are about win a championship. This has been a terrible sports year. The Kings and Heat winning championships and the Sharks getting their ***** kicked in 5. Last year was much better with Vancouver and Miami falling short and at least the Sharks made it to WCF. I hope LeBron's legacy is forever tarnished no matter how many championships he wins because he teamed up with someone who should be a rival and who he should be battling with for championships.

On a side note, McLellan looks very fit and healthy, has lost a significant amount of weight. #sjsharks

Perhaps his solution to the PK is to play some PK minutes himself.

While Lebron did say that, I think he was quoting the "sports guys" bit on Saturday Night Live.

"Regarding the Bulls, I dont think were looking at a 2-peat, 3-peat, or even a 4-peat. We're looking minimum 8-peat."
