Got pulled a couple times in October, once in November, but you are correct. He has started all but one game this season. Been the definition of a true workhorse goaltender.

No huge surprised other than Kuraly's poor start not costing him a roster spot. I still think it was a mistake to only bring 15 forwards. Why not bring 16 and name Kerdiles at least?

Oh, and Brady Skjei better pick up his game because I don't have faith in Housley to actually cut him if he's been scouting every home Minnesota game as has been reported.

Boucher is the most notable. Kerdiles could be another if he comes back strong from his suspension. And I would have preferred to see a few other defenseman there over Skjei but no shocking omissions. Vail will probably surprise some but the writing was on the wall there as he's a '94 and in the OHL. Not surprised they went with a '93 from the NCAA (and NTDP) for the 4th line center role.

Nice to see Riley Barber get a shot. He's been lights out for Miami.

Really thought Vail would make it.

He better make it next year

Also, really surprised Erne was left out.

IMO he's as much of a stud Trouba was last year, one went the CHL route and the other's a good USNDT boy though

Selfishly glad to see Skjei there, though I'm told he's having a rather pedestrian year.

Kind of confused as to why players like Erne, Vail, and Kerdiles are not on this final evaluation camp roster.

I don't think it would of hurt to have three more forwards compete for a roster spot.

I think are main strengths going into this tournament are going to be our defense and goaltending, whereas with our offense almost all of our forwards are going to have to step up and contribute if were going to have any chance of making a deep run.

Little surprised Boucher and Vail didn't get a tryout.

Yeah I'm pretty surprised that Boucher wasn't given an invite either considering the fact it seemed he was having good chemistry with Galchenyuk in Sarnia and his past experience with the ntdp.

Here's a conservative take on the roster at this point...

Gaudreau-Galchenyuk-Miller
Lucia-Grimaldi-Noesen
Matteau-Trocheck-Barber
Pietila-Kuraly-Biggs
Hartman

Gostisbehere-Jones
Grzelcyk-Trouba
Reilly-Murphy
Skjei

Gibson
Sparks
Gillies

The forward group just doesn't feel as deep as previous years and while the defense seems like it should be a strong point I've been disappointed with the play of many of the guys in consideration this year. I hope that Gibson gets back to 100% and is ready to steal a couple games as it may take that to get a medal.

Kerdiles was probably left off as a repercussion for that suspension for improper conduct with an agent (lack of play time). I just knock Erne and Vail to anti-CHL bias USA hockey seems to have cultivated. None would have been integral to the team so I doubt it'll affect the team that much. Still a head-scratcher though.

I think the US is mad at Boucher because didn't he leave their development program or one of their U18 or U17 teams? I mean hes got the speed they crave and hes been having a great season so far playing with Galchenyuk. I'm confused.

I think Sieloff can surprise a lot of people. Obviously I have some biased with this opinion but he is perfect for this type of tournament. He is a fantastic skater and is one of the most physical D-men of the 2012 draft. Very reliable defensively. He would be great for a 2nd pairing or bottom pairing job for the US, reliable D-man that agitates the top teams.
