Glad to see you are back for the World Juniors.
Are you really comparing perennial Canadian World Junior arrogance to the one time that I(one person) overestimated our junior team?

There's no comparison. You guys will always win that battle. I mean you haven't won the thing since 2009 and you still talk the same as you did in 2010......and 2011......and 2012....

One would think you guys would learn to shut up and be humble.

Even more so this year. They're already comparing Canada to the other great lockout year teams with Crosby, etc. Hopefully, the attention brings out the best in all the countries and we get a competitive tournament from start to finish.

Canadian fans have every reason to be confident. They have a team loaded with talented players and have a history of success in the tournament. However this thread isn't about the Canadian team is it?

It's hard to tell sometimes with all the Canadian trolls lurking around.

What do you guys think the PP will look like? Canada has Murphy on the backend who is likely to play the majority of his minutes on the PP, though I really don't think he will necessarily be the catalyst for the PP.

Would we see the 3 "G's" together? (Galchenyuk, Gaudreau, Grimaldi) on the PP? That would be one very dynamic PP, though net front presence for screens and rebounds would be a bit more difficult. Who gets 1st unit PP time? Any forwards expected to play the point on the PP?

You call it trolling when it's actually the correct response to a crackpot conspiracy theory. Would you guys rather not know that 10 games is the OHL standard because it came from a Canadian?

Actually looks like a very strong American team, kind of getting overlooked I think.

His response was not trolling. He simply disagreed with the theory that Hockey Canada was putting undo pressure on the OHL to suspend players from other teams. Your response was disproportionate to start bringing up Canadian fans and the team, which is only guaranteed to escalate the situation.

As I said before, I think the PP pointmen on the first unit should be Jones and Gostisbehere. Losing Noesen really hurts our PP because he was a solid front of the net presence. In his place, you could put Miller or Biggs there. I'd probably go with:

Gaudreau-Galchenyuk-Biggs
Gostisbehere-Jones

For the second unit, it gets more difficult. I'd probably go with:

Miller-Grimaldi-Barber
Grzelcyk-Trouba

Galchenyuk can play the point as well. I don't know that they will do it but I have seen him do it quite a bit in Sarnia. The depth of D-man capable of playing might dictate something else, but if you wanted to get the three G forwards out at the same time you can slide him back to the point with Jones and leave Biggs or someone else as the net front guy.

I'm not the most knowledgeable fan as far as prospects are concerned. Can someone post what the U.S. lineup is looking to be?

Probably best to wait until the actual roster is announced.

I'd be very surprised if these guys weren't there:

Forwards: Grimaldi, Galchenyuk, Gaudreau, Miller, Barber, Matteau, Biggs, Trocheck, Lucia

Defense: Jones, Murphy, Gostisbehere, Trouba

Goalies: Gibson, Sparks, Gillies

That leaves 4 forward spots, and 3 D spots. I think the F spots are filled by Vesey, Hartman, Pietila, and Bardreau. For D I'd give it to Sieloff, McCabe, and Grzelcyk

That truly wasn't my intention. If anything I was more afraid of embarrassing myself by putting out a depth chart that has a good chance of being wrong.

My vague sort of power rankings..... Not really line combinations per say but simply by position depth chart. Many positions are quite debatable and if you decide to move Grimaldi out to the wing that shifts stuff around.

Gaudreau-Galchenyuk-Miller
Lucia-Grimaldi-Noesen*
Matteau-Trochek-Biggs
Pietila-Kuraly-Barber
Vesey-Bardreau-Hartman
Kerdiles

Gostisbehere - Jones
Sieloff - Trouba
McCabe - Murphy
Grzelcyk
Reilly
Skjei

Gibson
Sparks
Gillies

I noticed that Noesen is no longer on the U.S. entry list.

It is a shame. I really wish the IIHF would change that rule.

So it's looking like Barber has a good shot at the top 6? Good to hear.

You realize they won the gold like 3 years ago right? Not sure how the roster is crap this year either with elite talent like Galchenyuk, Gaudreau, and Jones but whatever man.
