One is Russian spelling, the other is the Belarusian.

Superb game by Kosty and his gritty countrymen. What a proud moment for them all right now.

HAHAHA - make him more deffensive! Please, more deffensive.

Hope dumb*** is watching this game and the next few.

Thanks to the Bulldogs he is making his plays at the blueline instead of finishing. Guess that's, finishing, someone else's job...

Well, at least he can do it all. We need that.

Congrats the an excellent effort by Belaruse......

As for Kostitsyn, he reminds me so much of Kovalev.....

I just wish he would shoot as much in Hamilton as he did tonight.

I think that has a lot to do with confidence. And without a doubt he should gain a whole bunch from this experience.

I really enjoyed watching the US Belurus game tonight and it looks like AK will develop into the player BG thought he was going to get. Lets hope that he can continue to develop in Hamilton upon his return. He did look like a Man among Boys tonight.

Sad thing is we probably won't ...

Too bad because tonight I found myself pulling more for Belarus and Kostitsyn than I do when team Canada is on. I love cheering for underdogs who displays grit and passion. I really hope they don't get relegated because if the habs brass has it on their mind to draft his brother then I hope we can watch him play for Belarus next year. And I just plain love Belarus. I was rolling on the floor 3 years ago at the olympics when they beat Sweden. And tonight they repeated the magic.

I planned on watching a period of this massacre just to see how Kostitsyn looked among the others. Turns out I ended up following it like a Habs playoff game rooting for Belarus.

The only bad thing I saw about Kostitsyn, I stress only, was that he didn't give 100% sometimes when the play was in the neutral zone. Could be fatigue, could be just his style of play, I don't know. Now that does it for the negatives... all I'll say is the guy is very, very, very talented. Should have had 4 or 5 goals tonight.

I dont think its confidence at all really.

I think its more about feeling comfortable. With Belarus, he probably felt at home with his own culture, language, and people. I really feel that once he adapts to North America, he will begin to play like he did tonight.........which i might add again was Awsome!

Imagine this guy in a couple of years from now....simply amazing tonight, pure talent. With determination and hard work Kots could become our franchise player.

It's a combination of factors IMO. The most important being the ice time and second that he's playing against junior players (a couple notches below the calibre of the AHL). He has a little bit more time and space to make plays and he really made USA pay for their weak defense.

Obviously he doesn't get as much time in the AHL. And he isn't the go to guy as much. Tonight his teamates were looking for him to handle the puck on the PP and looked to pass to him whenever they were in the offensive zone. Not the same thing with the dogs.

Also the language barrier. Must really help when you can actually understand everything the coach says.

So that's 1 goal and 4 assists for Andrei in the round robin. I'm impressed

Also I want to add I don't think that's a confidence thing. He looks like a very confident and exuberant young kid. I'm not worried about Jarvis defensive approach making him lose his confidence anymore. My 2 cents...

Straight from the iihf U20 tournament site...

Belarus is in group A... so they're going to have to face either B4 or B5 depending on where they finish (it might already be a done deal, I'm unsure).
