Jagr seems like a guy who is all about $$. I think the biggest offer will be the team he goes to.

Honestly though, for those who are worried for Flyers fans or the Flyers because they might get jerked around, don't worry. He was great with the young players last year and had good chemistry with Giroux so if they sign for <$3M again this year, great. If he decides to go elsewhere or the Flyers go elsewhere with the money, that's fine too. There's enough forward depth that it's not something worth losing any sleep over.

That is what professional sports is all about. Making as much money as you can while you can. Wouldn't you do the same.

Saying a pro is all about money is like calling out a man for dating models as shallow, only dating them for looks.

Jagr is hockey's ultimate Troll. He says a bunch of good things about a place then does the opposite. Flyer fans now can get a little bit of a feel for what we went through last year. After all of his talk that "his heart was in Pittsburgh" and that "he would play for the league minimum is Lemieux asked him because he admired him so much". I got really excited to see Jagr return, Penguin fans forgive him, retire as a Penguin, and take his place next to Mario in the list of all time great Penguins and have his jersey retired. Mario called him personally (which he wouldnt do for any other free agent) asking him to return. It just seemed too perfect. Only to be stabbed in the back again.

Now, I wouldnt want him back. And I dont think the Pens will have any interest in him this year. The rumor is that Mario and a lot of top Pens brass were furious with how things played out last year. I think the team has moved on.

I wouldn't really mind if he was re-signed.. Just if he was, i would prefer it to be about 2-2.5m instead of the 3.3m this year.. To make up for the whole play 2/3s of the season healthy part

I'd hope Snow would overpay for Jagr just on a 1 year deal. I know he's kinda over the hill but I would love to see how him and Tavares gel. Think there would be legit chemistry between the two.

Let Jagr walk

Let Jags go... we have another chek who can produce like he did in Voracek.

Sign Hal Gill or trade a prospect and a pick for Ryan Whitney and we're set. I don't like hearing these JVR rumors, hes not going anywhere (or he shouldn't)

So back to Pittsburgh, Philly or Detroit, Montreal. Same as last year?

Doan or Whitney fit the B's a lot better than Jagr, IMO.

Personally I'd like to see the Kings give him an offer. Flyers West, baby. Always loved Jagr.

as far as i'm concerned, all we need to do is give Timonen some rest during the season so he's 100% for playoffs-- at least gill can play 18-20 minutes a game plus hes a monster on the PK i dont want timonen playing the PK if we can help it.

Pittsburgh is not an option. That bridge has been burned too many times to even try to rebuild it anymore.

Believing what Jagr says. Rookie mistake.

yea, you're probably right. Detroit might tell him to take a flying leap to after using them last year too. To Columbus it is...

Then when Timonen and Gill retire probably after his year, you are now left with 3 holes on defense.

I didn't miss the last part of your post, that was a completely different post.

You're absolutely right, though. Jagr wasn't nearly as effective down the stretch for Philly as he was earlier on. That shouldn't have surprised anyone given his age and the fact he had spent the prior three seasons playing a much shorter season.

Such "news" have already been in czech newspapers about a week ago... Jagr was quoted saying that he would like to continue in Philly but doesn't want any deal before July 1st because:

1. he wants to give Philly space to maneuver on the FA market

2. he wants to see what improvements Philly made on the FA market and whether he still would fit in such improved system (e.g. after acquiring Parise or Nash)

Plus he also was a bit unhappy about his ice time - not the totals, but how iregularly he played. He said several times he experienced spasms after sitting for about ten minutes (too many PPs or PKs..) and then jumping into play. Perhaps expectations in special formations would also play some role in this.

Hah, looking forward to this, he made HF the best comedy club for me last summer.

Honestly think most Flyers fans are ok with seeing him walk he was great while he was here then didn't show much the 2nd half of the season. JvR or Voracek need the 1st line minutes anyway and Couturier needs to come off the 4th line

All of the Philly love talk from Jagr seems more and more every day like it was just rhetoric to convince a GM of a young team that he (Jagr) is worth $3.5-$4 million for another season. Crafty, veteran move - no rookie mistake there.
