Any interest in Matt Carle?

Where are some speculated teams that he will sign to? Would love him back in San Jose

The place that makes the most sense is Colorado but if someone is willing to pay him near 6 million, I'm sure he'll take it.

He says he won't sign til Suter does. Smart move. Other teams will get desperate and overpay him for his suckiness.

i'd love to get a left handed defenseman with some offensive ability, but we're pretty full on d-men atm.

After Suter, he will entertain offers from potential suitors.

It would not be very hard to trade one of them especially when they need forwards.

No interest in Carle unless they trade 2 of Pickles, Demers and Braun for Nash. Probably not at what he'll expect to get paid though either. Hes gonna get 5 million or more from someone I bet.

They don't need to be going for just any defenseman but they damn sure should be going after a defenseman like Ryan Suter. The blue line is not at an ideal state. Yeah, they have seven guys but the right side is overloaded and the left side has no puck-movers. If that is not addressed, it will bite them in the ass in the playoffs like it does every year this issue persists (basically ever since Ehrhoff got dumped).

Go hard after Suter (whatever he wants give it to him ... and trade Boyle to make it work).

If you can't get Suter, I could see getting Carle, and moving Murray and others to make it fit (Murray and Zeus would be great to move to make ~5 million fit).

Pipe dreamin ...

Also, I'm not sure about just "making an offer" to some of these top free agents.

I'd have first class tickets booked in their name and put them up for a weekend in the south Bay area. Drive them around the Los Altos hills with their wives and kids.

Suter is a farmboy right? Drive him up the 280 and let him see all the beautiful hills and properties he could easily afford with his new contract. Remind him the value will never be lower than it is now, and that he could always move back to Wisconsin to retire. Then drive him down the 92 to Half Moon Bay and show him just how far away the Pacific Ocean is. Remind him how close top medical centers like Stanford and UCSF are. Plan a dinner for him and his wife in SF at some smancy restaurant.

And point out how all of this is within 30-45 minutes. That's what I would do if I were GM and I was trying to attract free agents. Wine and dine these sons of *****es. Of course what do I know ... maybe they already do that stuff.

The last year he was here, Rivet was his partner at even strength for a good portion of the year and Ehrhoff was his partner on the power play. Before that, it was a mix of Vlasic, Ehrhoff, and McLaren that would pair up with him.
