With the app I believe you can run everything but the actual games with your phone... Finding times to play would be tough but actually keeping up with it would be as easy as goofing off in class/at work.

I can't make the app work. When it asks for username/password, does it mean gamertag or EA account?

EA account, I think. I'm not exactly sure when I signed up for one, but I just threw in my go-to email and password and it took it...

Mine took it too, but then it told me I'm not in any leagues.

honestly I think the hardest part would be assiging teams to people. Maybe make it fair and say no one is allowed to be the 'Canes?

Depends on how many people we have. If it is like 5, we can just all pick from the same division so we play each other 6 times. I'll be any team, idgaf.

Xbox, by the way.

I dunno how often I'd be able to keep up with it, but I'd be down for Xbox. We should use the Northeast division so that someone's stuck with the Sabres.

At least I know that I'll win MULTIPLE Stanley Cups if I get them. And as much as I hate them, I'd rather be Bufflatucky than Winnipeg.

Man, there's a good reason why there's a "muzzle" on owners if this is how they view the situation. For all the talk about the players complaining on Twitters or the media, imagine the owner's comments?

Oh, and the Red Wings were fined 250k by the NHL because their VP made these comments.

I guess I personally don't see what's so surprising about any of these comments. Maybe other than having someone come out and actually say it? Other than that, it's not too shocking to me and seems pretty much inline with what I'd expect the owners views to be.

1) Bettman works for the owners and the owners are behind the lockout: No surprise there, that's pretty common knowledge and has been stated countless times on these boards.
2) There's an unwritten rule about going after RFAs. Given how pissed Burke was at Lowe and how few RFA offers ever occur, that's not really surprising to me either.
3) Owners aren't going to let the union push them around: Given how they've locked the players out twice in the not too distant past and have locked them out again this year, I can't see how anyone would view it otherwise.
4) It's not just about revenue sharing: Again, that's been out there that the owners wanted to extend the RFA period, change entry level deals, etc...

The most surprising thing in the article to me is how much he said it bothers Bettman that he gets the brunt of all the hate and booed all the time. I guess it's just human nature, but that was still a bit of a surprise to me.

All in all though, doesn't sound good for any NHL hockey this year. Fehr and Bettman (owners) seem to be two pretty immovable objects in these discussions. Fehr was ok with losing season in baseball and the owners have been ok with losing seasons in hockey. Not looking promising at all.

The NHL and its Players’ Association have collective bargaining sessions scheduled not just on Friday but through the entire weekend in New York, the Daily News has learned.

The meetings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Manhattan are scheduled to cover non-core economic issues, such as player health and safety, which means they will not address the greatest hurdle: How the owners and players will split their $3.3 billion-and-growing revenue pie.

The hope is that this weekend’s discussions will finalize other aspects of the eventual deal in the interim, while spurring more productive economic conversations.

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/ran...w-york-on-non-

Granted they will be discussing non economic issues, these next three days will be huge and could hopefully lead to them finding some common ground.

Meanwhile...

As you may be aware, today, due to the current work stoppage and continued labor negotiations, the NHL announced the cancellation of all of the remaining preseason games on the NHL calendar. In light of this news, we want to provide you with updates regarding your season ticket investment.

We believe that our Season Ticket Holders are the foundation of our organization, and that the success of our franchise would not be possible without your support. We share your frustration during this difficult time, and have designed additional benefits to show our appreciation for your continued support.

We remain hopeful that a new agreement can be reached in the near future, under which the complete regular season schedule remains intact. The possibility also exists that the recently cancelled preseason games will be rescheduled. If, however, the NHL and NHLPA have not yet reached a new CBA in time for a complete 82-game regular season to be played, we will recognize your loyalty in keeping your money on account as a Season Ticket Holder with the following measures:

5% simple interest on the money in your ticket account (accrued beginning September 16, 2012 through the duration of a lockout), which can be used toward additional 2012-13 regular season or playoff tickets, or toward your 2013-14 season ticket renewal (please note this is an increase from the 3% interest previously mentioned in the email sent to STHs on Sept. 16)

10% discount off the season ticket price for the 2013-14 season

*5% discount off the season ticket price for the 2014-15 season

For more information about discounts and game cancellation procedures, please visit the frequently asked questions (FAQ) page that we have created on CarolinaHurricanes.com to address your concerns.

Finally, the present uncertainty surrounding negotiations means that we are unable, at this time, to provide any additional season ticket mailing details. We will, however, continue to update you as negotiations progress and relevant season ticket news is available.

Thank you again for your continued support and Go Canes!

I'd rather Atlanta get the Thrashers back than a team in Seattle to be honest.

Of course I am well aware I have a better chance of winning the mega-million lottery than the Thrashers returning.

Hurricanes/Thrashers playoff series would have been a great road trip for me
