Would be stoked if the draft goes like that, and we package the second rounder with someone to move up and nab Subban.

There's some good guys you can get in the 2nd but I'm hoping Jankowski slips to us at 35.

I don't see two defencemen going in the top 5 unless Edmonton moves out of the #1 spot.

I also don't see Montreal passing on Galchenyuk at #3. When's the last time Montreal drafted a Swede? I can't remember the last time they had a notable Swede in their line-up.

This wasn't a mock draft, it's just a draft ranking.

So it doesn't matter which team gets picked where, it's just a matter of which prospect is the best in order.

So the rankings will vary with team needs but they will be picked close to these numbers. They are usually accurate.

Not much in the way of big surprises, cool to watch though. I don't think anyone should be surprised about Grigorenko dropping to 12th, or Reinhart rising to 4th, scouts have been saying this for awhile. Of course, this is just the combined opinion of the scouts Bob talked to, on draft day we could easily see one team fall in love with Grigs and take him much higher. Nobody should be surprised if he goes outside the top 10 though, he's got the Russian factor, his compete level is questionable, and his defensive play is questionable (which is a big deal for centers, much more so than wingers).

Personally, I'll be pretty happy with any of Forsberg, Murray, Galchenyuk, Reinhart or Dumba, all seem like quite good prospects, and at least 2 of them will be available when we pick.

2 things:

1) He said the mono and ankle injury may explain his play in the World Juniors and playoffs so his stock may go back UP with some scouts.

2) He really has to take his name off the list because some people just do not get it. He compiles scout's lists and combines them into a top 60 with some of his own opinion as the scouting report. They are NOT his rankings.

Huge fan of Wilson. I watch Plymouth as much as I get the chance too (When I'm not at work). He has his deficiencies for sure, though.

Wilson is a monster for physical play, but brings the hockey sense in order to play in a top 6 role. (I'd say this is the biggest thing that separates himself from Biggs).

The one issue many see with Wilson, is his skating. He's not a bad skater by any means, but he doesn't have a ton of speed. However, from most people I talk too, (Some Scouts, because I'm not really the best judgement of it)... They say its more of a mechanical issue.

If he's available at 20, I'd be very surprised. I'd love for the Leafs to get him, simply because I love the way he plays. However, I'm not sure he's the type of player we need, (With a prospect like Biggs already here). If we picked up another top 20 pick in some way or another, I'd like to go for Gaunce, or Ceci.

Not even close.. Reinhart for his size has excellent mobility, whereas Franson's skating wouldn't even be considered average.

Reinhart comes from great bloodlines and as pointed out just kept getting better and better as the season went on. Reinhart in interviews says he models his game/style after Shea Weber in fact.

Dumba, Reinhart and Rielly all pushing hard behind Murray for best dmen in this draft.

I may be wrong, but i believe Bob surveys NHL scouts (10 seems to come to mind) and creates his list from that.

If Forsberg, Galchenyuk and Yakupov are gone but Grigorgenko is available when we pick, we better snap him up.

I'd rather get another first and take Wilson. We have enough mediocre goalie prospects.

Just remember the consensus has Grigs out of the top 10. All it takes is one team to not be apart of the consensus and he can shoot back up into the top 5.

We keep hearing how the Leafs like Faksa, I wonder what Burkie will do? If #5 comes around and Gally and Grigs are still on the board. Really fascinating, I agree with GoLeafsGo, Wilson at #18 is a very intriguing pick. I want him also, he's going to be a pain to play against in the playoffs, rather have him with us than against us. Need these big guys that can play, they wear down a defence as a series goes on.

well not really

NHL Central Scouting: 3 NAS, International Scouting Services: No. 4, The Hockey News: No. 3, Button's Ranking: No. 20

at 5 i'd still be excited if the leafs took grigs even ahead of Forsberg

I'm a huge fan also. That's the type of players that you win with in the playoffs and he would be a great addition along guys like Biggs, and Ross. Every time we played Boston last season it made me sick. The whole team was scared to death, and as a result we got beat on the scoreboard AND pounded physically.

After watching that, And going by how accurate Bobby mac has been. My gut tells me Galchenyuk may very well be the guy we end up with.
