Pierre Dorion has said they WILL draft a goalie this year. Add that to the To Do List

No, just draft one... why hurt the depth with a silly trade?

Attempt to land Ceci, Maatta or Lindholm at 15. Try and acquire a 2nd round pick to draft Dansk (or Vasilevski/Subban if one falls far enough) to satisfy the goalie need. Somehow pull off a Smith+ for Hjalmarsson deal. AVOID trading away our entire future for Rick Nash. Push for Suter.

Acquire via trade or free agency legitimate top 6 forward and legit top 4 defender.

Sign necessary RFA's.

Yay. The snag is that Anaheim may want Cowen in that deal and he's just someone we can't afford to part with unless we sign Suter.

Evander Kane would be my #1 target in terms of trading for forwards. But we really don't need to do anything upfront outside of UFAs.

Because trading Lehner could bring back a first? And with Anderson's play and Bishop's arrival, I could see a trade to have Anderson's replacement ready in 4, 5 years.

Will Lehner be patient enough to wait another 3?

There is no one aside from an absolute superstar who I would trade cowen for. Cowen + for Nash or Ryan is a win for Anaheim. I have an extremely high opinion of Cowen and I think he is an absolute monster of a prospect. Plus a proven winner - you don't trade those guys away. He has massive potential and if Cowen is traded at any point i'll flip

Trading Lehner, even for a 1st would be a silly move. Like I would have never traded Tuukka Rask, I would never trade Robin Lehner, the guy just have too much potential (like Lundqvist upside) and an average season (by his standards) on a rebuilding team (yes Bingo was rebuilding) doesn't negate that. We never had a guy who could potentially be a franchise goalie... let's try to discover that before trading him

1-Find a partner for Karlsson
2-Sign someone for Spezza
3-Keep toughness, ie: Konopka and Carkner
4-Psy-op Alfie to come back

Philly cant afford Gonchar.

We dont need another 3rd line guy like Gaustad.

Jets wont give up Bogosian.

1. Sign Karlsson (Check)
2. Find Karlsson a partner
3. Find a top-six winger

I have a gut feeling #2 and #3 will both happen at the draft and that Murray will take the rest of the summer off.

Why can't Philly afford Gonchar especially with Pronger out long term? They need a PMD & Gonchar could be that guy, at some point last yr TSN analysts thought a Gonchar for Schenn deal was a good deal for both teams.

Guastad replaces Winchester, Konopka & JOB, he is big, tough, great defensively, hard to play against, great at faceoffs maybe better than Konopka & he can fight. Nashville thought enough of him that they gave up a 1st rd pick for him. I would have Gaustad playing 4th line centre in Ottawa not the 3rd line. Bogosian was an example of a top 4 defenceman, whomever becomes available could be acceptable.

Ottawa doesn't have enough right shot defencemen going into next yr unless you want Carkner to play every game. Switching guys over to their wrong side always causes problems for them & usually costs us goals, look how difficult it was for Phillips to play the right side when he played with Boroweicki. Gilroy had 18 pts last yr & pretty good wheels, i think they should give him another shot to see what he could do, they could always trade him.

I agree the Sens need to re-sign Carkner! He's a local connection to the team and proved his worth when he pounded Boyle for getting the crap he pulled. Carkner will sign for league minimum I am sure, gives the Sens a vet d-man who has been around, can play 6 or 7 d-man minutes and can be an enforcer for cheap.

+1 on re-signing Carkner. I realize he has an opportunity on July 1st to really cash in but Bmurr should let him hear offers then give him something that works for both sides. Probably going to have to cough up 1.2-1.3M on a 2 year deal.

All of the bolded ones are not guaranteed to be with the club in 3 days, I'm sure Murray has other priorities right now.

The organization would be absolutely stupid to trade away Cowen. Like I've said all along, IMO Cowen will be much more important to the Sens going down the stretch than Karlsson will be.
