Tough one.... If he would play like all those Habs training camps at the beginning of his career or when he first got traded. I fear he would be same old same old lazy Lats. I guess for a year on the cheap would be better then the Laughs picking him up.

Does he fit the new mold? Talent, Character, Grit, he's slow and gutless. Check Please.

If JVR's injury woes continue, Burke will be looking for work. He's at the end of his leash in Toronto. Schenn playing with his bother should be happy in Philly.

I wouldn't mind bringing back Latendresse either, provided that he can bring a better work ethic than his previous stint. If he doesn't work out on the 2nd line with Gionta and Plekanec, he can always be bumped to eat up weaker opposition with Eller. Latendresse did well against weaker opposition his first time here.

Whenever you are considering if we are going after somebody, think about Bergevin's comments about what he looked for .. "Hockey has to mean everything to you" ...

Do not think that means Latndresse will be a target, but Prust might be.

I'd bring back Latendresse if he's healthy. Could be a second liner for cheap.

Schenn must be happy too. Best goaltender he's ever played in front of.

The big problem I see with bringing him, isn't necessarily the concussion, but the fact that we don't have any gambling space on the roster. Get rid of Bourque & Gomez and then maybe you can try convincing MB to give him a chance. That's really if all other more expensive options have been swept aside though.

Edit: & management decided not to gamble with Alex, which would be the wise thing to do.

Eric Fehr will not receive a qualifying offer by the Winnipeg Jets.
That means Fehr is now scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Fehr is coming off a disappointing campaign where he only recorded three points in 35 games.

Might be a good reclamation project.

Alexander Semin's agent, Mark Gandler, said his client will "most likely" test the free agent market on July 1.
As we previously reported, the Capitals haven't made any progress recently towards re-signing Semin. He had 21 goals and 54 points in 77 games in 2011-12.

Semin and AK would be cool signing. Semin - Plekanec - Kostitsyn.

But I don't think they are up Bergevin's alley. If you could get them on one or two year deals, maybe. I really want to add wingers for Pleks, too.. so we can have Gionta on Eller's wing with Moen.

The Blue Jackets fired 4 amateur scouts after the draft according to Aaron Portzline.

Between the both of them, maybe we'll get 25 games where they show up.

Fired? It says their contract is expiring. It seems to be the way the scouting business runs in the league.

Where was the "weaker opposition" when Latenesse had 2 goals and 1 assist in 23 games before he was traded to the Wild? Seems the weakies feasted on his carcass rather than the reverse. I fail to see why the Habs need him. They're supposed to be a fast team, not a fat team.

I can see his delight in being reunited with his brother, but best goaltender? Really?

In the hockey business, when your contract is not renewed you are essentially fired. Put it this way, they don't have a job and they don't have a paycheck starting now.
