I am in a deep keeper salary cap league. Been so for going on 6 years now. Pretty much everyone puts very little value in defenseman. in cap keeper leagues you should not have a much cap space tied up in your defenseman. I might have 8 million tied up in my 6 defenseman. Of course we use hits and blocks as a stat as well.
Of course some teams have developed some young guys and held onto them and now they make some good salary, but as a rule guys like Chara, Weber, Green ect ect are on the waiver wire.
we have a 20 prospect limit as well.

Need a little help with a keeper league decision...H2H league, 1 C,RW,LW slot each, 3 F slots, 4 D, 1 Util and 2 G.

It's the standard yahoo scoring system

Final Roster from last season
Crosby - C
H Sedin - C
B Richards - C
Nug-Hopkins - C
Max Pacioretty - LW
Jamie Benn - C,LW
Justin Williams - RW
Lupul - LW/RW
Kunitz - LW
Gaborik - RW
B Wheeler - RW
Voracek - RW
Shea Weber - D
Timonen - D
Lidstrom - D **retired**
MAF - G
J Harding - G

What 3 would you take?

Crosby, Benn, Sedin. With the 3 F slots, you don't have to worry so much about position. Gaborik could be a good choice over Sedin, or perhaps you could keep Fleury. But I'm afraid of Fleury, especially with Vokoun in Pittsburgh.

That's my biggest concern, if I dont keep MAF can I get another elite goalie. I'm picking 10th this season since I won last year

Who should I start?

I'm in a pool and I have both Simmonds and Vorachek flanking on my right side of my team. Here's where it ges a bit messy as one of them will be on the bench.

Who do you think will be more effective against the Pens? Vorachek or Simmonds?

Hard to say. What stat categories? Any way you can play both?

G A SOG +/- and BLK

Schenn is still available...if he starts with G and Harts might drop Simmonds and keep Vorachek + Schenn. No way to play both as I have Seguin and Purcell playing on the 19th as well.

Coburn is likely going to be on the ice more and will have more opportunity for points. Coburn also outscored Foster last season.

so the factor of Foster being a right handed shot won't gain him PP time? over Coburn

He might get PP time. But he's competing with a lot of people, especially once Gus gets healthy. He only played 28 games (or something like that) last year, and there isn't much reason to believe he'll get a lot of games this year. Coburn is definitely the safer bet, he will produce more points overall.

ESPN 12 Team Keeper League...thoughts? There are a few potential sleepers here, in my opinion, along with a relatively solid foundation of vets. I'm pretty happy with this team, all things considered.

Forwards:
Daniel Sedin
Pavel Datsyuk
Martin St. Louis
Joe Pavelski
Dustin Brown
Jeff Carter
David Perron
Danny Briere
Matt Duchene
Kyle Turris
Martin Erat
Travis Zajac
Vladamir Tarasenko
Chris Stewart
Damien Brunner

Defense:
Kris Letang
Tobias Enstrom
Justin Schultz
Cam Fowler
Roman Josi

Goaltenders:
Jaroslav Halak
Carey Price

You got lucky with Brunner

He apparently will be starting the season on a line with Zetterberg and Datsyuk

Looks pretty good though

It's worth nothing that I actually picked Brunner up before Stewart and Josi, based on that information. I was surprised Josi was still available, honestly.

Team Strict Meszaros

Spezza
Marchand
Neal
Eriksson
Pominville
Selanne
Filppula
M. Michalek
Erat
Read
Oshie
Desharnais

Subban (Boyle was available but I accidentally picked Subban first)
Shattenkirk
Brent Burns
MDZ
Willie Mitchell

Halak
Theodore

I was tempted to pick up Lindback but I'm guessing his stats will be a lot worse with the Lightning in front of him. I can still pick him up on waivers anyways.

The fantrax one is all flyers

As for joining a new one, I'd be interested if it's not a keeper

Quick question (sorry if it has been asked before, but I haven't gone through this whole bad boy!).

Is voracek expected to play on Giroux's wing?

Basically, I am choosing who to drop between wheeler, voracek and Mike Richards. The league is points only (2 pts goal, 1 assist), no PIMs or anything else. Reason being, I want to snag Erik Cole of waivers (auto draft).

Leaning towards dropping richards (if only cause his PIMs are useless).

Oh and if anyone is curious, in a 13 team league (7F, 3D and 1G), I have (I had 7th pick):

- Spezza
- Hossa
- RNH
- M Richards
- Wheeler
- Voracek
- Lecavalier
- Karlsson
- J Schultz
- OEL
- C Schneider

Bench:

- Weiss and Hornqvist

Any help on Varacek would be greatly appreciated.
