Bobby Ryan on the block?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=398745

According to TSN, Bobby Ryan may be available (I know, again.)

Anyone have any good/realistic proposals for this guy? I've always liked him and I think he's a Bruins-type player.

(Sorry if this shouldn't be given a new thread, I didn't see a trade rumor sticky at the top.)

Krejci + makes sense but Ducks fans and B's fans can't agree on what the + is. B's fans think a Button/Spooner/Cross prospect should do it and Ducks fans want more (not more quantity but quality)

Spooner is one of the best prospects the bruins have.

I just don't see how Ryan is worth more than Krejci. Ryan scores more goals but Krejci is great defensively, makes his teammates better, stepped up huge in the Cup run and he has zero questions about his character (unlike Ryan)

Straight-up or no way.

Then no way.

Krejci as the offer would be trumped quickly by 15 other teams.

32 goals 30 assists 62 pts has more value around the league than18 goals 44 assists 62 pts. You can disagree with that if you want but it's true that GMs like the former better. For every goal scored there are 1.5 or 1.6 assists given out, therefor the value of 1 assist isn't equal to the value of 1 goal. As to Krejci's D... I think great is overselling it. He's good, but I don't think he's "great" defensively.

Again, I think around the league a big strong goal scorer has more value than a playmaking #2 C. But maybe the Gms are wrong.

Goals > Great Defensively.

Push comes to shove, that's why he's more important. Krejci is a very good player, in terms of value, it probably is about even, BUT goals are worth more. With the uncertainty of Nathan Horton, Bobby Ryan for Krejci straight up would be too easy, but the Ducks likely want more. Besides a center, I'm not sure what the Ducks need, and I'm sure Hamilton stops the talks on our end. Just Krejci isn't going to do it from our end, although it's close; possibly swapping some talent elsewhere? Krejci + Pouliot for Ryan + middle tier prospect?

Love to see him in boston but I don't see a match. A deal around Krejci would make sense but his new contract would be prohibitive.

While I would not mind at all seeing Ryan in Black & Gold, I would rather the B's go after Evander Kane, unless there is a way they could get both, unlikely though.

Krejci, Caron and a lesser prospect would be my best offer.

I think that says more about the current state of the Bruins Prospects than Ryan Spooner

There are a ton of Ryan/Krejci proposals on the main trade board. It's basically B's fans offering Krejci straight up, Krejci + Caron or Krejci + Spooner and Ducks fans say that they wouldn't trade Ryan for a C because the point of getting a C is to get someone to play WITH Ryan... thus if Boston wants Ryan they'd have to overpay.... Krejci+ Hamilton.

Don't shoot me, but that's what they are saying.

I loved that. Saw it on the main board and almost had my morning coffee shooting out my nose.

And given how hot the coffee was at the time - that would'a sucked almost as bad as the proposal itself.

I agree, but i think button/cross are not on spooner's level of potential.

McKenzie said he expects if Anaheim moves Ryan, it'll be for a few prospects and not big salary. So that would mean no Krejci. Wonder if that'd be possible for us without Hamilton.
