Not if they're asking for THAT package, they're not.

I'm just poking anyway. I know there are great Ducks fans.

Hmm... If they're looking for a winger to replace Ryan, they're not going to get something near as good as Ryan in return (otherwise, why would the team trading for him do so?). They want a defenseman? Futures?

I'm not sure I understand. I'd think getting a center would be the RIGHT move for that team.

Well Hamilton is not going anywhere except on the Bruin blueline.
A Krejci for Ryan trade alone favors the Ducks. A center has more value than a winger. Similiar contracts/ similiar points.

Ryan's stats:

2008-2009 Ducks 64 31 26 57
2009-2010 Ducks 81 35 29 64
2010-2011 Ducks 82 34 37 71
2011-2012 Ducks 82 31 26 57

Krejci's stats:

2007-2008 Bruins 56 6 21 27
2008-2009 Bruins 82 22 51 73
2009-2010 Bruins 79 17 35 52
2010-2011 Bruins 75 13 49 62
2011-2012 Bruins 79 23 39 62

Anyway, the Ducks are looking for prospects and low cap hits.

Marchand/Pouliot/ Caron- might fit the bill.

Don't shoot me, but that's what they are saying.
Why do people ever care what any "fan" on the main trade or whatever board say..Pretty sure it has nothing to do with them when a trade happens. Pretty sure Chiarelli and Murray obviously figure that part out. Of course they are going to want us to overpay. And 90% of the other boards don't seem to have many insiders to know any actual information like our board. And they never post outside of their own forums usually anyways.

Just saying I don't see why people get riled up when some "fans" on some other teams board wants a monstrous over payment. Not like they have any say in the matter anyways.

If you really want Ryan, and are willing to give up Krejci then maybe you find a third team.

I made the argument the other day, I think Krejci is one of the most underrated players on Hfboards. We are talking about someone who has legitimately been somewhere in the top 18-25 centers in the NHL for the past 4 season (finishing 18th, 22nd, and 17th in the NHL in scoring in 3 of the last 4 years, the 4th was the no goal bruins). David is a proven playoff warrior, and is signed long term to a very reasonable deal

He isn't an elite #1 center, but he is a legitimate second level #1 center

Quote:
I think that says more about the current state of the Bruins Prospects than Ryan Spooner
Yeah it sucks to have an exceptional skating 5'11" center who has strong offensive skills and is developing into a penalty killing weapon as the #3 prospect in our system.

I don't care if they want a Krejci/Hamilton package. It's never going to come close to happening.

What I'm curious about is why?

Why is Ryan on the block? Are they looking to shore up another position? Does Ryan want out? Are there personal issues?

When the Bruins traded Kessel, there were reasons. Kess didn't want to be here and Chiarelli felt as though his personality didn't fit with the team he was trying to build. That's fair enough (and ended up being a sound evaluation). But the Bruins didn't get back a single asset that helped them the year following the deal.

So, if there is disconnect between Ryan and the Ducks... Then I'm not sure what they'd expect as a return. Certainly not a genuine second line center AND a "A" Grade prospect. They won't find that anywhere... from anyONE.

If they're looking at dealing Ryan in order to improve their defense, then I disagree with their evaluation of what needs improving at what sacrifice.

If they're looking to improve their situation on the wing, then trading a wing is counter-productive.

And you say they don't want a center... And I think help down the middle is what they need the MOST. They may want to toughen up their defense too. They're looking at going into next season with Koivu as their second-line center... And if you want to compete, that's just not good enough anymore.

Either way, if Ryan is dealt... The Ducks will see NO immediate profit from it. The only way they come ahead, is if they use a draft pick or two... And pick WELL.

They don't like Krejci and a first? Well, they're going to be none too impressed when (if) Ryan is finally dealt. Because they won't get a better offer than that.

I don't see Boston doing a deal for Ryan where ANA is not taking salary back...whether they want to or not.

Bruins first, spooner, and Horton?

They could sell that.

Bobby Ryan didn't win the cup in 2011. He has no place on this team.

That certainly sticks out as one of the better offers I've seen. Especially given our need/want for a solid RH defenseman, which Boychuk appears to be. I don't get to see him too much, so could you tell me a bit about him?

He's a work horse with a cannon of a shot, can get caught flat footed against speedy forwards but is surprisingly smart with his stick and can plant skaters like a truck

O, and you're not getting him

Bruins don't need/want Ryan enough to justify adding to DK let alone adding 1st rounders and top 4 dmen. Absolutely insane.

the only thing insane is Boychuk being paid 3.36m with a NTC and its a late first in a weak draft.
