Ya , I'm sure some trades will only be announced tomorrow. The Erne trade was only done on August 2nd last year..

Intresting that the pick is in 2015 (when Shea's 20). Probably more to he trade if he reports or returns at 20 years old.

Did it feel good to get that out
You act like a "real" scout sometimes. This old news has already been leaked for about a month + . Looks like you lost lots of sleep over it.

It remains that Flynn totally dropped the ball on what is clearly seen as a Wildcats mismanagement of assets like reported on the Maritimes Board.

I agree. What should he have done at this point? Not trade him and not recoup anything?? There's also conditional elements to the trade based on performance.

i agree, you get to a point there is nothing more you can do, and you hold absolutely no leverage. However, you have to agree he was overated. Erne was not reporting, MaCkinnon was not reporting and teams still got a good return when trading them. Shea, despite the lack of ice time didnt do anything to warrant a better return when he did play. I think the wildcats overpaid for him in 2011, and i think they are doing a good thing by getting what they can and moving on. They can still use that pick at a later point as part of a package

Would that be like when LGM traded a 1st for Garrett Clarke and then traded him for 5th and 9th round picks??

So Bathurst essentially traded a 1st for a 5th and 9th... Good asset management

Yes it was an overpayment but if he had stayed , there wouldn't be problems. He has a ton of talent. That isn't the question. He will have a real good year and wil prove he was well worth going in the 1st round. Unfortunately that 1st came with a steep price.

The Shea to Quebec trade is conditional based on his performance. If he performs at a high level, Moncton will get more.

yep!!! at least there were no red flags with Shea....there were plenty of red flags on why you shouldnt pay much to get Clarke!

We disagree on Shea's potential, but, that will be revealed all in due time!

See....i'm not all against the wildcats, and i'm certainly not 100% pro bathurst! We can all get along!!

LOL. It's all in fun on my part anyways. I did find it funny that CHSB was thrashing Flynn about the deal considering Bathurst's backyard.

I understood enough to know it didn't specify what the ceiling of the deal could be but I wonder what Moncton could get in return if Shea put up 100 pts ?

all coaches, gm's, scouts, etc.. make bad deals, bad picks, at some point. if you dig in each team's past, they all have!

and, yes it's all in good fun for my part also

roy did point out that the ceiling for more compensation was very high. he has to perform at a very high level for anything else to switch hands.

I think you got it mixed up!

2011-01-05 Shawinigan Acadie-Bathurst Clarke, Garrett (1992-11-03)

Acadie-Bathurst Shawinigan Rd_1, 2013

and then:

2011-06-03 Acadie-Bathurst Shawinigan Arseneau, Vincent (1992-03-26)

Shawinigan Acadie-Bathurst Rd_1, 2013 (Bat)

Clarke costed the Titan Vincent Arseneau the following year....that was not half as bad as you make it sound.
It was not the best, but Arseneau was replaceable.

Then the Titan turned around and got a 5th and a 9th for Clarke from Gatineau.

So Arseneau the other way to Shawinigan.
A 5th and a 9th to Bathurst the following year while the Titan could hold on to both Arseneau and Clarke for the 11-12 season.
