With a quiet Trade Deadline, an uncertain CBA and a very weak Free Agency, I think the Draft will be the breakout where teams really try and improve their team's for whenever next season starts.

I predict a very active Draft with every team doing something.

trades

Mant deals, more than usual because of weak free agency and low trade deadline deals. Rise in cap could influence as well. 23 deals get completed from now until Sunday. Biggest suprise, Jets deal Enstrom + 9th to Wash for 11, 16 and conditional pick in 2013 (for signing of Enstrom).
Jets select Grigorenko 11th and Tanner Pearson 16th
Jets 3rd line- all rookie "Colt 400" named after the highway leading up to Barrie ( Scheifele, Pearson, Telegin) Scheifle moves to RW

Don't see any possible way Enstrom goes to the Caps unless its part of a larger deal centered around something actually useful for the Caps.

I have a feeling that this draft day gonna be a good draft day, that this draft day is gonna be a good good draft day, i got a feeling. In all honesty, looks rather fun to see what will happen.

If Washington has the 9th pick and Grigorenko is available and they pass on him, there will be a lot of pissed off Caps fans.

Considering things rarely go as predicted, I think there will be little trades done. Mostly it will be picks and minor player moving, nothing major.

I'm starting to get this feeling, too. TSN and the like have been hyping this week as full of news and there is nothing going on. Even the guys who are known to be available/talked about don't really seem like they're that available: Gillis keeps talking about keeping Luongo, Shero doesn't want to trade Staal, Kane's agent says he's happy with WPG, Ryan is not being shopped but offers are being listened to. Even the Nash "talk" is shockingly subdued. I'm starting to worry this trade talk is going to be a lot of ado about nothing. Mike Gillis said it was his sense there might be more trades later in the summer rather than right now and he may be right.

I actually am going large. I am saying 7 trades just in top 15, then 5 more. 12 total

6 majors

1 Nash, Luongo, Bernier, E. Kane, J. Staal, Markov, Kessler, Phaneuf, JVR, B. Ryan, Marleau, Roy, Markov, L. Schenn

involved will be
CBJ 2nd pick
NYI 4th pick
Anaheim 6th pick
TB 10th pick, 19th
ED 2nd round

Hockey trades? Not more than 5. Pick for pick-trades will be plenty though.
