Cain Franson is an excellent invite...thought he may have warranted a late draft pick.

Wonder if there is any chance he has a late growth spurt, isn't Cody 6'5"?

Well Justin DaSilva is big.... And likes to hit. I'm not sure how much his game has rounded into form. When he First came to Powell River he was pretty bad. Big body but late on the hits and by the time he left he developed into our top d-man with a hard slap shot. BCHL hockey in our division is full of smaller but fast and talented players so Justin developed the foot speed to keep up with them. But his time in Powell River he was a man playing among boys.

I hope Cain sticks. Would be a good prospect to keep an eye on.

I haven't seen too many Giants games in recent years, but when I do, Cain Franson is usually the one that sticks out the most. (him and that Brendan Gallagher guy)

Invited forwards:

-Adam Kambeitz (Captain of Red Deer... but kinda sucks. PK winger with limited size... is the guy in the video that gets destroyed by Dalton Thrower in a fight)

-Zach Hall (brutal in his first season in the OHL but last year had 59 points in 58 games...

-Cain Franson (okay vancouver giant)

-Kurtis Bartliff (ex Nanaimo clipper... underwhelming)

-Buddy Robinson (6'5, 222 lbs...)

-Kenton Miller (Average over-ager WHL)

-Jeremy Langlois (Meh)

-Josh Jooris (Meh)

-Woody Hudson (6'3, 220 lbs... lots of PIMs looks like a scrapper)

- Alexandre Carrier (i'm assuming the val'dor one... 6'2, 195... fights lots)

Canucklehead can update the first post? Can't do it well on my phone.

First thoughts: I'm excited for Jeremie Blain.

Evan McEneny

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...php?pid=128100

This is an interesting one. May 94 birthdate, injured his knee, only played 2 games this year, and is a guy who can rush the puck + make a good first pass, as well as play physical. Could be a signing if he shows well.

Described as one of the Rangers' best players in training camp and in the first two games...

Zach Hall, Jeremie Blain, and Nolan Zajac are also very intriguing.

Inviting Joel Rumpel is obviously another ploy to associate with as many of Justin Schultz's Wisconsin teammates as possible

We are fine on contracts for sure, with all the releases that have just happened.

Am counting on CapGeek, but so far it looks like...

Roster
13 on Forwards
6 on D (without Salo)
2 on G (with Luongo)
21 Total

Non-Roster
18 including Lack

And we're going to sign Gaunce and Mallet, barring any strange circumstances. So that gives us 41 contracts.

Oh, also Mathieu Corbeil was quite highly regarded a year or two back, and this year he seemed to have done well on the Sea Dogs. We'll see whether he can keep developing - 6'6 goaltender.

Interesting that he's there and no Honzik?

Anybody have an idea why he's not attending.

Can't remember who (one of the Canucks beat writers) said Myron is on his way to Boston University.

McNally would have had to pay his own way out to the camp (technically), given that he's already in the NCAA. He wasn't yet a year ago. That's probably a reason why he isn't here.

No clue on Honzik.

Wesley Myron going to visit Boston University during that week, so he can't attend.
