If they traded Ryan there wouldn't be much talent to put around Dubinsky. I think they'll keep Selanne with Koivu...and he's not playing with Getzlaf and Perry.

Not taking that chance for him to rebound. Plus he'd play with guys like Cogliano or Palmieri. He would have to carry the play. And he can't.

Just speculation: Ryan (+?) to Phil for Meszaros + Voracek + Read?
It would have to be a huge plus, I think.

More likely to be two of those three pieces with a pick, I guess.

No, based off our GM's words yesterday as well as beat writers, Stepan is off the table. Also, apparently we were interested in Nash 95% and Ryan was only an afterthought.

Sather just said he'd be aggressive in free agency, which worries me, but I don't know.

The best piece you'd likely be getting back would be Hagelin and the best center would be Anisimov. I don't think any of our defense is on the block.

If a deal gets made, no point in it being now. We'd have to see how our team would look on July 1st. If (I really hope not) we sign Parise, Ryan's not a need. If we sign Schultz, MDZ might be available. And so on.

As for PMD, how does Lance Armstrong project for you guys?

Apparently there are 4-5 teams inquiring hard into Dubinsky. In particular, it looked like a deal fell through with Dallas yesterday right as Buffalo picked Grigorenko.

If we need to trade Dubinsky to fit Ryan, we'll do it somewhere else. There's plenty of teams that actually want him - no need to force him onto the Ducks, where we wouldn't get full value for him.

What is another possibility ... that Dubinsky gets flipped somewhere and that gets flipped to the Ducks ... that actually makes A LOT of sense ... because A LOT of teams are interested in Dubinsky.

We dont want Dubinsky. By trading for Dubinsky we are in the same situation salary wise as before. Obviously BM wants to make some huge moves in FA or else we wouldnt be 15 mil under the floor.

Stepan+Del Zotto+1st

That is what I would want from NY

Stepan is not in play. Neither is DZ, but how about something like Dubi + DZ + picks for Ryan + Rakell?

I have a nasty suspicion the Flyers are going to end up Ryan and the Rangers will end up with Nash's **** contract.

This bites.

You can keep Dubinsky. Bob Murray already said we have no interest in him and his contract.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me. Who knows what Holmgren is thinking?

That's just out of the question. I know you guys have a need for OFD and centers, but we only have one top 6 center besides Richards and Del Zotto is our only OFD. Sather already said he's not trading his kids.

If a deal isn't there, Sather won't bite.

Can Rangers fans stop putting Dubinsky in every single trade proposal, he has 0 value in a blockbuster trade. It's the new Halak+Ryder+2nd. If he is that good, trade Stepan and put dubinsky on the second line.

honestly its either going to be the Rangers or Bruins that will have the best offers for Ryan assuming he gets traded. The Rangers can offer one of their good defensemen prospects along with a good young center. At the same time the Bruins can offer Krejci with one of their better young forwards. This is assuming that Ryan is traded but Murray has shown to flirt with the idea of trading him instead of actually fielding the idea

which is why, regardless of the size argument, Buffalo makes a ton of sense as a trade partner for Ryan

Ducks would want a centre they can build around for years to come. From Ducks perspective those are neither Dubinsky or Anisimov, but Stepan.

There's not point in trading such a valuable asset like Ryan to get centre (Dubinsky or Anisimov) that is (and that's an if) barely better than 37 years old Koivu on decline.

Realisticaly 2 years (1 if being optimistic) before he's ready.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people keep bringing him up. He's not necessary for a deal to be made. When it comes to the cap, we could easily flip him for something like Raymond+1st.

Honestly, the assets we have that are possibly available: Hagelin, Anisimov, prospects not including Erixon.

If a deal can't be made using those pieces, it won't be made.

That's fine. Sather already said he was off the table. That may be why most of our efforts are concentrated on Nash, not Ryan.

I included DZ in the offer and you chose to ignore him and focus on Dubi instead. Fine, offer withdrawn.
