Draft Day Trades

What kind of draft day moves do you expect this year aside from the usual pick swapping? I expect FLA to trade Garrison's rights for a 3rd/4th round pick.

I don't expect the Wild to do much (in terms of trades), at least on day one.

I suspect that Carolina is gonna trade their pick.

I think one of Edmonton or Columbus will move the #1/2 overall. I think Carolina also trades their pick.

I have no idea, I'm just looking at who is available, most likely, at #8 and seeing they either missed the guys they needed (Galenchuk, Forsberg) or have to reach (Faksa, Wilson)

Love to see Calgary do something, but we never do anything productive.. Look for Calgary to trade the 14th overall pick for Jay Feaster to get a back massage.

The Habs will trade for a second pick, maybe ANA's. Reasoning: because I said so, and it will increase my enjoyment of the draft.

Pick Galchenyuk at 3 and gamble on the 39 year old Grigorenko at 6. Fake a Carey Price injury early on this season, collect another lottery pick. Select a beast, build a new dynasty.

Being a GM is so easy.

I wouldn't draft a 39 year old..
and fake a Carey Price injury? I'd say put Brian Gionta in net...

I don't actually know how old he is. I am just adding on a reasonable error estimate because Damien Cox broke the story. We don't need to put Gionta in net, we have Budaj who is awesome at being bad.

My best outlandish P Kane proposal (because truly I don't think there's a chance he gets moved)

To WSH- Patty Kane

To CHI- Backstrom

So they trade the 2012 8th for Sean Couturier? Seems legit.

I'm guessing that one of Clowe/Murray/Demers/Braun will no longer be a Shark after tomorrow.

I am not sure how it could be done, but Montreal really needs a guy like Murray. Clowe would be nice, but expensive for our depleted organization.

Snow moves his 2nd rounder+ a 2nd tier prospect for a short term defensive pickup:A Murray or Leopold.

I suspect Luongo might be dealt to the Leafs. Leafs will most likely keep their pick. Other than that I don't suspect much from the Leafs. They may move a body or two for a pick. Possible candidates Armstrong, Komi, Liles, Connolly, Lombardi...

We're going to see a lot of wheeling and dealing this draft as people are very comfortable moving back after the opening 10 picks.

Would not be surprised to see Ryan Wilson dealt at the draft.

An early-mid 2nd would probably be enough for Murray. Clowe would require a speedy, top-6 winger coming back, so that's not as likely.

The Oilers get 6th or 8th in a package trade where Sam Gagner is involved.
