PHX would've been interesting, but I don't think the nhl wanted a possible line brawl opening night to overshadow the banner raising.

I believe the game is on nbc sports thast night and should cover at least the raising of the banner

They should.

Seeing Brad Richards watch the Kings raise their banner is good enough for me.

NY Rangers should get good ratings for NBC too.
