Hammer!!! get a nail, seal the deal..There will be two Staal's in Carolina, either by the start of the season, or by the trade deadline. So like I said, pointless discussion. Can scratch that name off your wishlist. New York's a great place to play, but that doesn't mean everyone wants to come here i.e. Staal, Parise etc...

One source said this and you're completely sold on it?

Okay...

I'd assume if the Rangers traded for him, which I doubt, MDZ would be moved in a seperate deal.

Seriously, though, Yandle would be a great fit. Tough, great passeer.
I remember the great pass he made to us in our game against the Coyotes this past season

But if he is actually available, I'd be all for it. His cap hit is not unreasonable.
The yotes must have a lot of faith in OEL if he actually is available.

Watch the Zuccarello Anisimov Thomas to Yotes for Yandle proposals popup.....Zuccarello would get ice time with Coyotes..lol

I could easily see Dubinsky+ for Yandle. Don Maloney connection. He was in the organization when Dubinsky was drafted. He loves Dubinsky, and he knows Tippet would as well.

If that's all it takes, I'm all for it. But I don't think that's even close to what it'll take, alas.

The Yotes will want young NHL level fowards for Yandle. They won't want any Dmen with the group of OEL, Gormley, Runblad etc.

Going to need a lot of +'s if Dubinsky is the center of the package.

Think Stepan or Hagelin +. Possibly AA++.

Doesn't have anything to do with Marc, he wants to be on the same PP unit, possibly play wing with Eric I'm assuming. It's not rocket science, not to sure why some people can't take off the blinders occasionally and look at things objectively. Would I mind Jordan coming to NY, not at all, do I see it happening, not at all. Sure there's a chance he ends up getting moved somewhere other than Carolina at the deadline, Pitts GM will try to get the most for him, but make no mistake, if it's not Carolina at the deadline, it will be come July 1st. 2013.. When Jordan Staal himself says he'd really like to play with Eric in Carolina, turns down a big contract extension unless it were to be a sign and trade, one would think it's fairly obvious what the outcome is going to be. Sure there's some sliver of hope that Carolna may not want to sign him, but that's just me with blinders on talking..

Yandle has four years left at 5.25 million. His numbers last year were very similar to Del Zotto.

He is older and better at QBing a PP but it just doesn't make much sense.

It would probably be Dubi, 1st, Thomas, and maybe something else.

You guys reall need to stop thinking we can get quantity for quality deals. Nash/Ryan/Yandle, NONE of these deals get done with Dubi+. Dubi is a reclamation project at this point on a high cap hit.

The fact people actually think something like Dubi + 1st would get a guy like Yandle is laughable. Please take the homer blinders off.

Why are we going crazy, I seen someone mention stepan Hagelin for yandle? Sure he's good but our D is best in the league top 4

Yandle is an interesting player. I think his level of play is a bit overstated at times. Don't get me wrong, he if a very skilled and impressive player. But, he has his flaws, and they can be very noticeable and detrimental. Anyone remember the goal Gaborik scored in Phoenix, where Yandle gifted it to him? That can happen to Yandle a bit too often at times. He can be very inconsistent. Usually, his offense is there, but his defensive game is spotty, and at times, he looks a bit dazed.

Overall ,he's a solid #2 that can QB a PP and move the puck up the ice quickly. He's got some snarl to his game, too, and I really like that.

He is more consistent then MDZ, putting up 43pts, 59pts, and 41pts, the last three seasons. He is also better defensively and is good breaking out of the zone/rushing the puck up on the PP.

When he's at his best, MDZ is better defensively than Yandle. They play a very similar style. Only real difference is skating, Yandle is better there. That said, I think MDZ is better at reading the play. When he's settled down, at least.

Yandle is superior offensively, though. Much better shot.

So if they agreed to go their separate ways, why is Howson insistent on saying "Fine, I won't trade him." every third day.

But I think MDZ could develop into a Yandle like player.

I would love for Yandle to come over to NY, but it depends on the asking price. But if we could trade Dubi, Thomas, and 2nd. I would definitely consider that if I was in rangers organization

For me, the guy is a redundant expensive piece. It doesn't make any sense to get him.

I agree. Adding a top 4 defenseman to the Rangers is like adding sugar to jellybeans.
