Would rather play McIilrath than have Byfuglien. He's a terrible defenseman.

He'll still be making 4m a year and CLB is a nice city probably cheaper than NYC.

Tortorella would be all for that. Can you imagine how happy he would be to have a 300+ pound player in training camp.

Lets just say for the fun of it, Stepan gets moved for either Ryan or Nash and Dubinsky could bring in someone like Clowe. and we brought in Schultz.

Ryan/Nash-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Anisimov-Clowe
Hagelin-Boyle-Callahan
Prust-?-Rupp

Mcdonagh/Girardi
Staal/Del Zotto
Schultz/Stralman?
7th D

Biron
Hank.

not sure too many would complain about that...

He's fat and lazy and gets way out of shape during the summer. Tortorella would freaking hate him.

BTW He was over 300 last summer.

Edit: he ballooned to 286 I exaggerated a little.

Dubinsky doesn't have to worry about a trade to Columbus. Howson wants to hit a home run in the deal. Everyone says Howson has to scale back his requests from the various teams but he won't.

Really looks like their D did fine last year, you would think they'd be lookin to upgrade their offense.

I sure as hell wouldn't complain, and I think Stepan is awesome.

Though I'd have Callahan on 2nd line instead of Clowe. Clowe played 3rd line with SJ last year I believe, and I think Callahan is a lot better.

Add another guy who plays with an edge to the left side and you're golden. I've been on about Kyle Beach in Chicago for a while now. I think he'd be a great fit in a 3rd line role and he still has upside.

Of course the other option is to retain Dubinsky and keep the 'Pack line together.
This. Having Pack line as our defacto 3rd line means we really just need to add a RW to play with Kreider-Stepan. I really think that we don't need to trade anyone off of the roster, just add one UFA RW and another RD is all this team needs to improve on their performance from past season.

Yeah and worst case scenario for him is best case for everyone else when the new GM steps in and trades him for what he's actually worth.

I don't doubt that, being that he weighs almost a ton.

Byfuglien is below average defensively and is on a horrible contract for a player of his caliber. Stay far away.

I'd be all for this if we get Clowe before we make a move and trade away Stepan
