Thinking Yandle would cost Del Zotto and Dubinsky and you know what I say go for it. It also doesn ot add a ton of salary it likely sheds some since Dubi is around 4 and DZ will get 2.5ish or so as a RFA

I am still kinds surprised they are in so hard on a Dman though and he better play RD.........I dont think we can complain if the top 4 is McD, Giardi, Staal, Yandle

I have no clue who the scorer can be, but scorers don't have low cap hits. The Dubi for Yandle exchange is almost a tradeoff. We need to subtract Dubi's cap hit to bring in another top 6 scorer.

They do if they are young or are RFA's.

Evander Kane.
Brett Connolly.
etc.

Not all scorers have to carry an 8 million dollar cap hit.

he doesnt. his partner is aucoin who plays the right side.

if they are trading for yandle, i dont think del zotto is included in the deal, as theyre looking to move yandle in order to make room on defense.

however i do think if we trade for yandle there is definitely another trade ready to go, as i cant imagine even wanting del zotto with yandle around. i freaking love del zotto but there is a huge gap between these players.

He certainly didn't during the playoffs. Phoenix has Morris, Rozsival, Aucoin as RHDs and Klesla plays RD as well.

I think Yandle will be an Islander if he's traded.

From LeBrun's article:

He’d be the power-play quarterback they’ve been looking for, no question.
Jesus. This team has been looking for a PP QB for years. Gomez was going to run it. Then Richards. Del Zotto is the QB of the future! No, no! Keith Yandle!

Someone is going to have to play the right-side at some point.

I could see Dubinsky + Prospect + pick for Yandle and Anisimov + DZ + for Nash or Ryan or something like that (I know ANA has no need for DZ).

-Dubinsky Anisimov Del Zotto
+ Nash/Ryan Yandle FA

Might be tough in the cap department, but that would be a great move in my opinion.

Here's hoping it's a right-defenseman

I think the problem is not having enough skill out there who can handle the puck. Putting all of the pressure on 1 guy doesn't work. Richards + Yandle. Yeah, that's A LOT closer.

How the hell are we going to be able to afford Yandle and Nash/Ryan

Nash isn't going to happen. You guys need to get off of the Nash train. Howson wants Gretzky for Nash and Nash has a terrible contract. We'd be in cap hell if we got Nash.

yandle would definitely play the right side on the PP which is something we've been looking for too

the talent pool for available RH'd is pretty crappy, id rather get yandle and having a revolving door of our LH'd defenseman to see who can work on the right. typically you want to find someone who is big and VERY good along the boards.

NO to Yandle! His cap hit would hurt us from grabbing a big time forward.

PHX had 3 righties in Rozsival,Aucoin and Morris. Stone played some when they had injuries and he is a righty. The left side is not Yandle's natural side. Can he play 20 plus minutes a night on the right side? In all situations?

There has not been one source who said Sather is worried about the cap. It's he doesn't want to give up the assets. Your kidding yourself if u don't think Sather would offer a ton if Nash was a UFA

yandle has a 5.25 cap hit, and while thats a lot, thats literally a great contract, bordering on a bargain for him

Why are we trading assets to get a top 4 d when we already have 4? And his cap hit don't help us getting offense

He's a perennial 60 point player. no way he should be paid more than gaborik is.

Interesting Ryan has that same cap hit but scores 30+ and he's not worth the assets but yandle is? :shrugs:

Honestly, I don't see the point in adding Yandle. This team needs a top 6 winger, NYR's defense is already deep enough, and they could still add Schultz.

We wouldn't. It's financially impossible.
