One call can change everything, of course. But the sense now across the #NHL is that Rick Nash will not be traded this weekend.
this is going to go on forever

Dammit McConnell! WE TOLD YOU TO FIRE THIS CLOWN! Why the hell won't you listen?!? Why won't you open your eyes? Don't you have any pride?!? Do you even care?
I find myself questioning why I even care.

No sense in pulling the trigger if the offers suck, none of us know what they are. More gamesmanship from GMSH, in my opinion.

The odds of the offers "sucking" are quite slim, and I think that gamesmanship turns out to be Howson asking for too much, then gets stuck in the end with nothing.

Howson: We think the 2013 trade deadline will offer us a real opportunity to get the value for Nash that we need.

Lots of teams are probably going for Parise or may try and snag Bobby Ryan cheap and will resort to a Nash trade as a last resort.

Bingo, if anything, teams will be trying to shed salary to afford these guys first. Nash will move to a "fallback option"

What kind of return do you get when you are trading a "fall back option"? An NHL ready forward, 2 prospects and a first round pick? I don't think so.

I think nash is here for awhile. Once Parise signs and Ryan goes there won't be as much demand and if Howson doesn't come off his demands I think nash starts the season here.

Risky. Howson needs to be a ninja here and get this done.

It may be risky but #1 picks are now next year's and who knows who will be the Kings of 2013. Plus everyone now know he is asking too much (if they didn't already).

I'm 50/50 at best this gets done. As Blah said the other day, Howson can always blame the fact he didn't get offered value and that's why the trade didnt happen.

Looks like Scotty pooped his big boy pants. This is awful and how this organization can continue to allow it to happen is baffling. At this point, I absolutely understand why Rick Nash asked for a trade. I hope that you are traded to an organization that actually gives a ****. We can all forget about getting roster players because our dimwitted GM set the bar way too high and now, he'll be lucky to get a roster player and a first round pick. That's not an indictment of Nash, that's an indictment to just how incompetent Howson is. Ryan Murray I'm sure will be a fine addition, but Howson in my mind turned this draft into exactly what I thought he would...a train wreck.

Gotta figure that Howson waits till Parise and Ryan are off the market. Nash will get moved, but the big issue is gonna be who is desperate at that point. The Rangers, San Jose, Boston and now Pitt are all gonna be players eventually one of them will have to deal after the other options are off the board. (we hope)

Other than torturing the fans repeatedly, the age and contract length of Nash always provides the option of waiting for the next trade window.

The worse case scenario is that Nash stays here, and I am okay with that. Sure it may be a soap opera but it give us something to watch instead of a losing hockey team
