Do yuo really think he's going to come out at a media event and tell everyone "well we had this offer from this team and another one from here. We think that maybe we should ask for another piece here."
Come on people. Unless you're sitting in the room and listening on the speaker phone we got no idea what's going on.

I think you always are best to (1) not have a press conference when there is literally nothing to report or (2) pretend interest is higher than it is in hopes someone falls for it. This was a total waste. After his little tantrum at the deadline, it is as if the guy is trying to blow this.

I think I may have been more disappointed hearing talk of trading down. If we are trading down, we'd better be getting a legit top 6 forward. Here's an idea--we trade down with Anaheim and take Bobby Ryan off their hands in the process, then eliminating competition with the Nash trade we get a decent return.
Wait, that sounds creative or aggressive. This GM doesn't have the stones for it.

Well, gee, maybe that's why this wasn't a press conference and instead a short-term pre-scheduled Q&A session with the media relating to some significant event - y'know, like the NHL draft - taking place tomorrow.
Just a thought. I mean, I know we're all obsessed with berating Scott Howson and seeing what happens to Nash (apparently in that order), but, y'know, there's other things going on too.

I'll be honest, I don't know why Murray is looking to trade Ryan in the first place, so I'm going under the assumption a brain tumor is pressing on an area of the brain that blocks out reason.

Getting those guys would certainly brighten my day. But we'll see.
I'll be honest, I don't know why Murray is looking to trade Ryan in the first place, so I'm going under the assumption a brain tumor is pressing on an area of the brain that blocks out reason.
Honestly? There has to be something else going on behind-the-scenes. It could be that the relationship has soured for some reason, and that Murray is looking to get a Nash-style return for a guy he wants to move.
The brain tumor theory is interesting though. Or maybe Ryan's mother was too close to Murray during one of his chair-throwing tirades.
Lot's of talk of what Nash would do with good linemates...can you imagine Nash on a line with Perry and Getzlaf? If his stats didn't go up on that line they never would.
Plus how good would Ryan be when removed from that line?
