Hoping for them to nab one of Gusev, Prokhorkin, or Slepyshev later. Worth it in the 5th or later.

Matia Marcantuoni is still available from the Kitchener Rangers.

At one point during the hockey season he was a projected middle to late 1st rounder.

If that kid can play like a prime Gaustad, it was well worth the 3rd. Big, defensive, pot a few points here and there. I'm not sure about his physical play, though. Can anyone fill me in?

Exactly. 3rd rounders are far from sure things...you can't expect to get Goose-like players in those later rounds...most of the times those later rounds don't even get signed let alone play in the NHL. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and you get capable NHLers in those rounds, but most of the times you don't.

I'm going to trust Regier here. Drafting is one of the things he's done very well, so he gets the benefit of the doubt here.

Has Brody Vail been selected yet? I dont think he has and if we could nab him in the 5th round I would be Very happy.

And IMO Darcy will wait until the 7th round to select any Russian if at all. But with 2 7th rounders he may get 2 Russians like Gusev or Slephyev if they are there.

Agree.

I wish Darcy would finally address the center depth.

Hopefully. They needed size, they need finish too.

Has Hudon gone yet? I am blocking out grandma's at the deli counter right now.

Didn't see him picked yet. Not streaming it. Getting updates on NHL.com. Just started 4th round.

Darcy attacking size again with the selection of Kea. Kid has the skills to make it, but has to put it all together. Honestly I dont see him making it in a scoring role, but I have hopes that he can embrace the Physical game and do well in a Paul Gaustad sort of role.

And Hudon hasnt been selected that I have seen, or one of my 5th round hopefulls Andrea Anastatiou (SP?)

I'd pencil in Catenacci ahead of Kea...maybe Sundher as well.

I'm guessing Kea wasn't taken to be in a scoring role. Size, physicality, difficult to play against is probably what they're thinking about.

When the new core takes the keys, this team is going to be HUGE (McNabb, Foligno, Grigs, Girgs, Armia, Kea, et al.)
