I also REALLY like Dansk. He's my favourite tender from this draft. I think he has some of the best puck-handling skills out of the tenders and I like his aggressive play.

Dansk and Di Giuseppe are the top two guys I'd like to see us take.

Otherwise, Nieves, Sisson and Kerdiles both seem like very solid options as well.
Agree Sweech. I like Di Giuseppe, Sissons, and Dansk. If we get one of those 3 at 39, Jets would have had a very good draft.

Won't really know how it will turn out for a few years and picks in the other rounds may turn out too, but their top 2 picks would have been 1st rd (ish) picks.

Late trade:

Pittsburgh deals Zbynek Michalek for Harrison Ruopp, Marc Cheverie, and a 3rd (81st) in 2012.

I'm definitely one of those guys. Di Giuseppe...he'll be the steal of the draft IMO, even if this is where he was originally projected to be picked. He's got a similar upbringing to Camallerri, great skating speed in the neutral zone, high end scoring ability. I think he has top line potential.

The 3 guys I'm hoping for are
Di Giuseppe
Matt Finn
Anton Slepyshev

Slepyshev is a big risk/reward due to currently playing in the KHL. He's going to play there for another two years, but honestly, I think his skills are top 10 worthy. He was the #1 pick in the KHL. He's a young kid playing with men and is already an effective player. And he was really honest about his intentions that he'd only move away from Russia if it was for the NHL. He's ranked anywhere from 2nd-3rd round. I'd take a gamble on him.

I haven't done any research on Goalies, but Dansk looks like a good choice as well.

Two trends I'm noticing is that we don't seem to take players playing in Europe/Russia (all North Americans since the 2011 draft) and that we don't take players out of the Q (again, none since the 2011 draft).

I think it's because of our scouting staff. We don't have a purely QMJHL scout and our European staff is not as strong as I'd like to see it.

Last year I noticed how thick and big Mark Scheifele's dad was , Jacob Trouba's dad literally is big enough to go bear hunting with a switch. The man is truly immense.

We have a pattern for next year , pop has to shop at big and tall.

His Dad and grandfather both apparently 6'8" and his Uncle is 7'1"

Big freakin' family.

Yes , I commented earlier on the heights of his relatives , but for a player often described as " a big bodied defenseman" ,he was dwarfed by his dad when they hugged after his selection. He was like a third the size of him.

Yeah, I don't doubt our scouts take a look at the pedigree of players.

The whole "harpoon" part made me laugh out loud for a looooong time.

Friend zone stuff was solid too. So childish, yet hilarious.

Brady Vail
Devin Shore
Nikolai Prokhorkin
Nick Ebert

Lot's of good players.
The bolded are the guys I want at #39. Like others have said, it would be great if Chevy could land a second 2nd round pick from someone.

Not opposed to selecting a defenseman here, but I think they should go with one of the forwards. The defensemen I would consider are McCabe, Bystrom, Thrower and Finn, in no particular order.

Seeing as we had several upset that a defenseman was chosen with the first, how upset would they be if the 2nd is a defenseman as well????

Damn, I forgot to mention Bozon, I really like him too.

Seems there's still some decent players for us to snag with the second. I just reeeeally want Di Giuseppe though.

I would be hugely proud if the Jets pick Ville Pokka, almost my neighbor and so. From Kärpät, Sm-liiga. He's great, wise, guy, who makes a good first pass. I would LOVE that pick!

Is likely going away in the new CBA. And will not apply to Trouba since he is not playing a year of junior after being drafted.

Trouba was my 2nd preference for the Jets, it is a solid pick. Nasty, very smart, good positionally, good skater. Not huge offensive potential, but there is some for sure. Shea Weber with a less powerful shot type. Another right handed D, very valuable. Like the pick for sure.

My favourite picks were 13.Radek Faksa (DAL), 14.Zemgus Girgensons(BUF), 17.Tomas Hertl(SJS), 22.Olli Maata(PIT), 25.Jordan Schmaltz(STL) and 27.Henrik Samuelsson(PHO). I think those teams made out like bandits with those picks in those spots.

Disliked 5.Morgan Reilly(TOR), 6.Hampus Lindholm(ANA), 7.Matthew Dumba(MIN), 8.Derrick Pouliot(PIT), 24.Malcolm Subban(BOS), 28.Brady Skjei(NYR). Those teams reached too far, IMO.

Overall, very interesting first round. Really hope the Jets manage to land one of...
20. RW Martin Frk - Struggled all season with concussion symptoms, but returned late in the season and played well. Struggled in playoffs somewhat though. Could be a young Dustin Brown though, he has a great skill set.
21. D Matthew Finn - Not really sure what to make of this guy. Had great stats, wore an "A" at just 17, but has no real wow factor. Honestly, have not seen much of him, he is a wildcard in my book.
25. G Oscar Dansk - Plenty will tell you he is the best goalie in the draft, but I am not so certain. Dansk has just average size, he has been lights out at international tourneys this year and looked very good during the season. He plays very well positionally, rarely caught out of position. Spent time in NA with Shattucks St. Marys.
27. D Ludvig Bystrom - Does not have countryman Lindholm's composure or size, but Bystrom is a solid prospect in his own right. Hits well, jumps up in the play well, he may be a impact player at the next level.
29. LW Phillip Di Giuseppe - Saw his level of play drop off considerably in the 2nd half of the year which will badly hurt his draft stock, but he is a very smart player and put up great numbers for one of the youngest players in the NCAA.
30. C Cristoval Nieves - Here's a name many may not recognize, but he is a smart playmaking center with great size out of Kent School that is committed to U of Michigan. He is a very smart player with great on-ice vision.
33. RW Tim Bozon

Lets get day 2 started!

Dansk certainly makes sense for Columbus

Moroz at 32 seems like a reach..
